Status: accepted → closed

Current implementation of "Plugin" feature and internal handling of array data type makes the request not worthy of the complexity that would be the result of having this feature.

However plugins would be handled eventually one way or the other. When that happens this ticket would be rendered invalid simply because plugins require thorough evaluation that should address every aspect of the implementation including array support.
