#2080 closed Bug (Wont Fix)

unable to create compiled archive

Reported by: internetcafeontoulouse@… Owned by:
Milestone: Component: Aut2Exe
Version: 3.3.6.1 Severity: None
Keywords: unable to create compiled archive Cc:

Description

This problem have been around for years now. I've tried everything sugguested. No Av, no icons added.

It appears it has something to do with the temporary file created with UPX. Then the exe is renamed to the final spot. There's the problem because windows (WIN7) is waiting for the temp .upx file handle to be released so it can add it's attributes. Aut2exe is waiting also (or it could be UPX) to rename.... BAM, error creating compiled archive.

I have found threads going back to 2005!

Recompiled, hit ok on the error screen, comtinue and repeat til you get an exe. I do this hundreds of times every single day for years now waiting for the problem to get fixed.

Perhaps there is a software out their that I can automate this process? I'd use autoit it, but it would take to very very long...

Suggested? Where, what, by whom?

Please explain properly or this ends up rejected very soon.

  • Resolution set to Wont Fix
  • Status changed from new to closed

Closing as won't fix. Without a wast to consistently reproduce the problem there's no way to fix this. The behavior certainly seems like a race condition but I've looked at the code and Aut2Exe isn't doing anything dumb.
