Mikeman27294 Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 No, I have used it before on an x64 system. I am running it on the 32 bit autoit executable though.
Moderators Melba23 Posted January 19, 2012 Author Moderators Posted January 19, 2012 Mikeman27294,Could you please try with AutoIt3_x64.exe. If you are mixing x86 and x64 I would hazard a guess that the subclassing is not working correctly and so you are not substituting the UDF WndProcs for the Windows versions. Mikeman27294 Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 (edited) Yes, running it under the 64 bit executable worked. Does that mean that it is calling 64 bit DLLs but running under 32 bit and so the DLL is incompatible? Edited January 19, 2012 by Mikeman27294
wraithdu Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 @Melba23 I think this is happening because in your subclassing function you are testing @OSArch, the bitness of the OS, instead of the bitness of AutoIt. Try replacing that with @AutoItX64 and see if it works on Win x64 as a 32-bit app.
Moderators Melba23 Posted January 19, 2012 Author Moderators Posted January 19, 2012 wraithdu, Sounds reasonable to me - do you have an x64 machine to test this version of the UDF with your suggested change? expandcollapse popup#include-once ; KaFu Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Hi m8,running this on a Win7 64bit OS as a 32bit process, it hangs from time to time while rendering the initial GUI. Restart the example multiple times to see the effect. Clicking the GUI or drawing the borders will make the script continue to render the frames. I've already taken deeper look but couldn't identify the issue. First thought it was thisIf you have changed certain window data using SetWindowLong, you must call SetWindowPos for the changes to take effect. Use the following combination for uFlags: SWP_NOMOVE | SWP_NOSIZE | SWP_NOZORDER | SWP_FRAMECHANGED.but adding a call after the SetWindowLong did not help.Regards OS: Win10-22H2 - 64bit - German, AutoIt Version: 3.3.16.1, AutoIt Editor: SciTE, Website: https://funk.eu AMT - Auto-Movie-Thumbnailer (2024-Oct-13) BIC - Batch-Image-Cropper (2023-Apr-01) COP - Color Picker (2009-May-21) DCS - Dynamic Cursor Selector (2024-Oct-13) HMW - Hide my Windows (2024-Oct-19) HRC - HotKey Resolution Changer (2012-May-16) ICU - Icon Configuration Utility (2018-Sep-16) SMF - Search my Files (2024-Oct-20) - THE file info and duplicates search tool SSD - Set Sound Device (2017-Sep-16)
Moderators Melba23 Posted March 13, 2012 Author Moderators Posted March 13, 2012 Kafu, It hangs for me on Vista x32 from time to time as well, so I do not believe it is an x32/x64 problem. KaFu Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 (edited) Just an idea, is it possible that this passage from the help-file for GUIRegisterMsg() applies to this situation: "Warning: blocking of running user functions which executes window messages with commands such as "Msgbox()" can lead to unexpected behavior, the return to the system should be as fast as possible !!!" , that your custom winproc is to complex and chokes the message queue somehow randomly. Edit: No truly randomly but e.g. during processor usage peaks? Would a custom buffer solve this? ResNullius Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 @Melba23, Maybe I'm just daft, but there seems to be a problem with the individual GUI frames created in terms of, shall I say, their "stickiness". If I fire up your "GUIFrame_Example_1.au3" as included in the current download and click and drag say the green background in the upper left frame, the whole thing moves. If I now click and drag on some of the exposed "white" space where the green used to be, I can clcik and drag the whole left half of the GUI, top, bottom, and horizontal split. If I click and drag the red right half of the GUI and then click and drag on the exposed white space there, the Entire inside of the GUI with all dividers and child objects can be dragged around. I have reproduced this problem on two different computers, both running the latest stable build of AutoIt 3.3.8.1. Can you reproduce? If so, is that behaviour by design or is there a bit that hasn't been flipped somewhere. I was looking forward to using this in a new project, but I can't trust my users not to idly click and drag things around Thanks
Moderators Melba23 Posted March 24, 2012 Author Moderators Posted March 24, 2012 ResNullius, but I can't trust my users not to idly click and drag things aroundI now feel the same way - why do people have to fiddle! I can reproduce the behaviour - thanks for pointing it out. It is certainly not by design and I will look into it. Moderators Melba23 Posted March 24, 2012 Author Moderators Posted March 24, 2012 ResNullius,That did not take long - I wondered why no-one had reported it before as it seems such an obvious bug so I looked at recent changes to the UDF. I had added the $WS_EX_CONTROLPARENT style to the frames as a result of this thread. But I knew in the back of my mind that there was a problem with that style and in fact the addition of that style is what is causing the "dragging" problem. Alas there is little I can do to prevent the problem if I retain the style - as you can see from Valik's response to the Trac report #1115.I will have a think about how best to proceed from here - perhaps an option to use the style or not might be the solution. Again thanks for the report.
