its an older version, but it never had a problem before, any idea's why?

$user32 isnt exists or isnt properly definied as 'user32.dll'

Anyway, use the lastest version because its more safe to get good results

Depend on the value that $a_R[0] holds and from which function the value is taken.

If it's from GetAsyncKeyState it's testing if the most significant is set (1) then ANDing it with 0x8000 (It's returning a word so only 2 bytes) results in a non zero value but since the guy who wrote this function doesn't want to know if it was down before calling the GetAsyncKeyState function he just tests whether the key is down at the time calling this function or not.

(0x8001 And 0x8000) always = 0x8000

have an old script, and am running into issues while using _ispressed if I use a hotkey in an msn convo

If he gets DllCall failed than i think he using an old script with newer AutoIt version.

We are not physic. How can we know whats happening if we don't see your code. Have you check the release notes for _IsPressed see if you can find changes?

Just remove _IsPressed() from your script, add #Include <Misc.au3> to the begining of your script, and use _IsPressed like this:

#Include <Misc.au3>

If _IsPressed($nHexKey, $User32) Then ....

I am using the newest _ispressed, but I keep my filesize low by having no includes..I just take the func I need and stick it on the bottom of my script....

again, it works on every window ACCEPT for when an msn convo is ontop... add me to msn if you want me to show you the script
