Can AutoIT grab text from an emulator

I use an emulater which was written for Windows so that I can "translate" Unix. Can AutoIT grab text off the emulater. When I use the Windows Info tool the only text that is seen is in the title. Is there anyway to grab that text? I am trying to automate a process that is done every night. I want to use "text triggers" to move to the next step instead of a timer of some sorts i.e. When it says "process complete" it hits the next step instead of creating a timer to count 15 Mins. to ensure enough time for the process to complete. The emulator is called Bluvista used to emulate IBM3151 for Unix.
