UnRARIt v1.2 *New

Very Nice :P

I needed an unrar program that could handle the password prompting.

Although WinRAR also does, i am looking for a way to right click a .rar

file and have it recognize if a password is needed and use an already

defined password (same for many files I receive).

Looking forward to an updated version of this.

Some features that would be nice to see...

If possible, could you create an .ini file to save the current working directory (source)

since that never changes (for me anyways) so that it shows up as the default

next time the program is opened up.

Also saving the destination folder would be very helpful.

As well, as mentioned above, having a default password saved in the .ini file could

be used to fill in the password prompt when needed.

Perhaps an option to add: Delete the source .rar files if UnRarIt is successful.

As mentioned previously, installing with right-click context menu options show up for .rar files

in the same way that WinRAR has "Extract to ..."

Thanks again.

I gave it a shot and tried to make some modifications on my own.

I modified to have the default source and destination directories I want show up by default.

The dest folder is working, but the source just disappears and you still end up in "My documents"

area as the default when you click on the source button.

I also have a default password showing up as ***** in the popup when a password is needed.

However, trying different .rar examples causes the program to crash without error message.

I thought maybe the password field was actually receiving ***** instead of the actual password

but I typed it in manually, and then program still crashes.

oh well! It was worth a shot.

Alienware

File>Open gives -1 error.

Hi. Thank you for finding bug, i fix this problem, updated first post.

You should also FileInstall the unrar.dll to the temp dir, and then OnAutoItExit() delete it.

No, i think if unrar.dll be placed in script directory this behavior be right. For example, if new unrar.dll version is released, user just placed new library in script directory. ;)

The new version only extracts the selected file in the archive.

I seem to have problems running the program.

When I use file -> open, I get a directory and cannot select multiple files.

I cannot use shift-click to select many files and I can't click and hold to scroll

an area of files to select. I can never select more than one file.

With that one file xxx.part01.rar it won't extract anything (it just comes back

to the menu with nothing attempting or any error message), can't view it,

and the program crashes if I try to test it.

The file names are from xxx.part01.rar to xxx.part33.rar and they are 100MB each.

The volume has a password on it, if that matters.

You can select only one archive file in one time. Multiple selecting be in new version. ;)

I tested on a 52 passworded rar parts, works fine for me.

and the program crashes if I try to test it

Maybe archive contains errors? Edited by rasim

Nothing wrong with the archives I test with. Works fine with WinRAR.

In your tests, are your RAR files named xx.r00 - xx.r30 + xx.rar and you only

select the .rar file? Have you tried any where they all end in .rar (see my post above)?

I would have expected that my selecting 1 file xx-part01.rar would have been enough.

Files named so:

test.part1.rar
test.part2.rar
test.part3.rar
...etc...........

Got a sample from usenet shich is not encrypted and I can drag&drop the first file into the window.

It shows me the contents no problem. No problem to extract this one.

A progress bar would be a nice feature to add.

Tried again with a small encrypted volume, I only see an icon with no name... which makes some sense

since it is encrypted and the password has not yet been prompted for.

If I try and test volume, password prompt comes up, looks like it tries to extract so it can test... but then crashes.

if I try and view (makes no sense to do that, but) it asks for password and then prompts what application

to use to view. I choose WinRAR and it shows me a WinRAR window with the contents of

C:\Documents and Settings\MyUser\Local Settings\Temp

If I try to extract it, password prompt, and then nothing happens... no message, no window, nothing.

This extracted fine with WinRAR.

Please don't feel that I am being critical in any way, not my intention, just reporting my findings.

Awesome!

the latest 1.1 version is working now as expected.

when I open the first file in the archive the password is prompted, accepted and then

shows me the contents of the archive.

testing archive now works without crashing. viewing a file (like image) works.

the new progress bar works. thanks.

In the About screen I noticed a couple of typos/grammar.

- version number still shows 1.0

- "unpacking a RAR-archives" should be "unpacking RAR archives" or "unpacking a RAR-archive"

- "Autor" should be "Author"

One missing feature would be to allow the program window to be resized and remembering it the next

time it is opened. Right now my filenames are too long to see, even when I push all the other

fields out of the way by resizing the name column.

The only thing left for me personally is adding a default password in the options to try first and if that fails

then popup the password prompt box... but that's something I can attempt on my own or hard-code.

Thank you.

Hi! Thank you again for testing my imperfect code ;)

Correct, fixed.

time it is opened. Right now my filenames are too long to see, even when I push all the other

fields out of the way by resizing the name column.

In the next version this will marketed ;)

then popup the password prompt box... but that's something I can attempt on my own or hard-code.

You can write this, my code is open source :D
