SvenP Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 Loads of warning. It's a month late as it is.I'd like to have a much quicker release cycle, 5 months is too much. Hard to get there though.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Jon,First of all, congratulations for finally putting 3.1.0 into release. But the AutoIt web page really needs some re-design.. It must be 'shouting!' that version 3.1.0 has been released: NOW WITH THE AMAZING GUI!!! ..or something like that... At this moment it is very unnoticable that this is a major release version. Place that nice GUI-example by CyberSlug on the main page, that would really amaze people.Regards,-Sven

SumTingWong Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 I'd like to add my congratulations to Jon and the Devs too. It's been a long hard slog but the result is well worth it.
Josbe Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 I'd like to add my congratulations to Jon and the Devs too. It's been a long hard slog but the result is well worth it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Me too. AutoIt has given a revolution with this release. Definitively. To everyone, Devs., congratulations and thanks. AUTOIT > AutoIt docs / Beta folder - AutoIt latest beta
this-is-me Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 Jon, does this mean that within the week we will begin having COM support? Who else would I be?

SvenP Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 Any better now?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Jon,The http://www.autoitscript.com/autoit3/ page is outstanding! Great work! However the main-page http://www.autoitscript.com/ still looks a bit too, ehm....how shall I phrase this correctly....a bit sober/plain. It didn't do 'Wow!' to me, when I saw the home page the first time. (ok, maybe because it doesn't show scantily dressed females :-)You could add a kind of background logo or some more graphics.Too bad I'm more a coder than a web-page designer. Maybe we should start an 'AutoIt web-page design contest' among our forum visitors?Regards,-Sven
SvenP Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 Jon, does this mean that within the week we will begin having COM support? <{POST_SNAPBACK}>That version is still too buggy. It needs a lot of rewriting before you can even call it 'unstable'. It's currently un-un-un-stable :-)Regards,-Sven
Helge Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 ...It's currently un-un-un-stable :-)...<{POST_SNAPBACK}>If you "un" an "un" whichs "uns" the stable, doesn't means it's simple...unstable ?
this-is-me Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 I always hate to ask this to developers, because most times it is not possible to respond, but dow you have any ideas on how long it might take to get COM at least partially working? Who else would I be?
Valik Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 I always hate to ask this to developers, because most times it is not possible to respond, but dow you have any ideas on how long it might take to get COM at least partially working?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>This is the reason I didn't want to mention that I was messing around with COM (Before Sven showed up). Thanks Sven, you've taken both the work-load and the "Is it done yet? Its it done yet? Is it done yet?" from me.
SlimShady Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 Let me guess: 2 weeks before it's unstable, 4 weeks until it's finished.
SumTingWong Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 Standard response from game developers: "It's done when it's done"

I just hate it when they make separate hotfixes for .NET Framework 1.0 AND 1.1 AND 1.1sp1 AND that multiplied by each different operating system AND that multiplied by each language used....)
this-is-me Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 I guess someone eventually had to ask, so I picked myself. Who else would I be?
therks Posted February 12, 2005 Posted February 12, 2005 Wait... was StringRegExp taken out of the release completely? Lack of the function has broken a few of my scripts. I thought it was just going to go undocumented. My AutoIt Stuff | My Github
this-is-me Posted February 12, 2005 Posted February 12, 2005 Yes. StringregExp is gone from full release, but as always, beta still has it. Who else would I be?
therks Posted February 12, 2005 Posted February 12, 2005 (edited) Well that's odd... the release is 3.1.0.15, and the beta is 3.1.0.14. But the beta does have StringRegExp. Any idea what the difference is between .15 and .14? Cus I was just going for using whichever version was most recent. *Edit: Unfortunately, that also means that the version Holger has (with TrayMenu stuff) doesn't have StringRegExp. I guess I can't have my cake and eat it too. Edited February 12, 2005 by Saunders My AutoIt Stuff | My Github
