I was looking in the script examples for a way to send an email.

I've used that code for a while and i'ts pretty solid. It doesnt seem to work on my computer at work because it is behind a proxy etc, but it works on my home computers great.

This is the best solution you could use.

but it doesn't work on Win9x systems.

Another way is to use some commandline utilities, for example blat.exe
