when i'm finished with all section i'll upload a new version.

It's not nice to upload one section everyday :)

i think from now on you should take more time on each one to make sure its just about perfect... so like make it a much more bigger update... and uplade it every time u have done 1-2 updates!!!

also:

were are these in the new one:

Todo List :

Complete the index.dat deletion sequence (100% completed)

Improve the registry cleaner

Add secure deletion to the Applications section (100% completed)

Add Swap File Deletion (discontinued) XP sucks (**i agree**)

Add Custom File Deletion (100% complete)

Improve Startup Manager (100% completed)

Add Cancel Buttons (100% completed)

Add PC Optimization after cleaning for XP Only (100% completed)

Fix small bugs (100% completed)

Oké i'll improve the Software Manager, but calculating the size of the application can sometimes be different from the one windows does.

I tried your appplicaion , specially the feature ... Empty Space Eraser !

this feature creates a text file in root directory .

I tried a drive only with 5 gb free space . The procss stopped after a while .

then i discovred this text file ( maybe temporary) with a size of approximately 4.5 gb .

In the first place why the process stops by itself with out intervention ?

second , does this application needs this file through the whole process ?

I did not want to go further before asking ...

thanks

Another masterful app, Mr. Bond. It seems everything you come out with is automatically incredible. Good job.

Empty Space Eraser creates that file and fills it with crap, and then automaticly deletes it.

It was working perfectly but i noticed with each new version of Autoit, you get a different problem, i suggest that you use version 3.2.2.0 (check first post)

A few issues here.

1) when running the app I get nothing no error's nothing. I'm running it from within scite so I can watch for any funny output. I am already running 3.2.2.0 and have never upgraded to the newer versions.

2) what about the file size limitations of ntfs. I thought it was only 4 gb. I could be wrong and don't remember the exact size of this.

Now for some comments.

No it's not the largest I have been working on a program I call buster for a few years. I have never released it.

In the past I have used eraser and a few other methods for secure file erasure in my app. It also supports copy lock and secure delete from systernals. After running across your secure delete stuff I have not looked over it as carefully as I should but on first look it looks sound enough. Do you mind if I use it for my app also?

Thanks for some ideas and the nice app.

I never had any troubles with the File size limitations, i tried it on many computers with different configurations. It works normally. As a sad before this is "Probably" the biggest cleaning tool you've ever seen.

Use any method described in Space Regain in any way you like . :)

Mrbond007 !

As I noticed the temp file (crap ) taks a lot of space .

The application runs more smoothly on fixed hard disks with a large free disk space .

i tried it 0n 20 gb . ( it needs a minimum of 8 gb space )

I trid it on 40 gb works well wih 10 gb free space .

My question is : is not a good idea to throw those crap files on the fly to Recycle or delete them , without keping them

to the process end ?

I'm pretty sure that would negate the whole purpose of the file. It has to be there till the end so that it will take the space of all the old deleted files, so they really will be deleted.

Sure ! Fear1313

Quiet short minutes ago i tried again with a NTFS system harddisk with a total capacity 0f 60.GB .

AND ONLY 3.5 GB IS USED ON THE HARDDISK .

the temp file took the whole resting space . and the process stopped at 99.9 % . the temp file > 50.0 GB :)

The question is how come ? Or only me experiencing this , and if that is the case , how the same scenario repeats on

different computers ?

The solution i mentiond earlier was not right , although I recognized about that short after i submitted the post .

I liked the idea to accomplish such tasks with autoit script .

When windows deletes a file, the data isn't really being rmoved, that section on the hard drive is just marked as "empty", to be rewritten over. The temp file is filled with random junk until EVERYTHING that was marked "deleted", is overwritten. So all traces of the files are gone. Comprende?

i tried it on 10 computers, each with a different configuration and different hardware.

from the tests i noticed that there is a small chance that autoit might skip one loop, and therefore might stop automaticlly, hé it's not a real program after all :)

There was a small bug in version 1 that makes this happens, but it was fix in version 1.2

Anyway i'm sure that in the future AutoIt will be more powerfull (and faster), and then we can create some awesome scripts.

Has anyone tried the "Optimize My PC" option ? If so, did anyone noticed any difference ?

Hm ok. Wonder why it works.

Thanks. There are a few things in here that I would like to add like the sd functions. It would be nice to replace the use of all the external files I'm using now. AS for the others. Yes there are a few in there that look interesting.

Also it seems to run fine now. Not sure why. I rebooted and then it would run fine.

  • 2 weeks later...

Tried it... yes

Do i know wot is does... NO

So wot does it do...

this function simply puts Windows XP into an idle state, enabling it to perform tasks that it wouldn't normally do while the computer is in use. The API's sole purpose is to allow benchmarks a simple way to force any pending idle tasks to be executed immediately, without having to wait a lengthy period of time.

But some users say that it makes there pc boot faster :) . The effect can change depending on the software and hardware that you use .

This is a GREAT program, might be the most useful i've ever seen made in autoit

you should include compiled script in your .RAR and also your program should be on the download's page for AutoIt..

6037 lines of code!!!!

P.S. you should create a site for such a great program;;;

EDIT: use #NoTrayIcon or use ur custom tray

Yes i can do that but not quite yet. I´m still working on it (will add more options), so when it´s completely finished, i´ll publish it outside this forum to encourage people to use AutoIt and to donate to the AutoIt Team :)
