Well, the fact of the matter is that .exe is a universal thing.

now, how is it useful to go confusing yourself by changing something like that?

If you REALLY dont like looking at the .exe turn off the showing of known file extensions, and just call your file something stuipid like:

myprogram.au4.exe

Now, if the idea was to have an au4 file executed by the auto IT program, there is an option to choose whether a .au3 file executes or opens for editing..

so your entire idea is null and void.
