darkshadow791 Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to modify the "Do not show hidden files and folders" option without creating an explorer window and going through Tools>etc... I.e. if it may be a registry key? I googled a bit but no luck. The reason I'm looking for this is because I want a program to run in the background that will enable this option (instead of showing hidden/system files) every so often if it isn't already checked. Basically I don't want people who might have access to my computer to modify, change, delete, or tamper with hidden files. If anyone knows of a way to do this, much thanks. Note Taker Lite - a note taking / converting tool.
Thatsgreat2345 Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 User Key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ Advanced] Value Name: Hidden Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value) Value Data: (1 = show hidden, 2 = do not show)
Richard Robertson Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 That looks like the way winguides does their registry descriptions.
Thatsgreat2345 Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 yes it is, because it really isnt that hard to google
