Fast resolving IP-adres

Hey,

I need a method to resolve a ip-adress from an external computer. I use now a script that does a ping to another computer an capture the result in a text-files. (Something like ping computer>c:\ip.txt)

It works only it's takes a second or two. _Getip can only resolve its own ip-adess and ping does return an ip-adress at all.

Does anybody knows how to do this?
