exolon Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 (edited) Hi, Hope this is the right place to ask: I installed the most recent Scite4AutoIt build (containing Koda 1.7.1.0) at work on a Vista machine and at home on my old XP laptop. When I launch Koda from Scite, I can't preview a form without quitting Koda first, since it appears to lock the output console to any launched tools. The preview function switches back to Scite and opens up a new tab for a file "test.au3", which can't be run until Koda is exited. However, it somehow works fine on my Vista box at work. So it sounds like the Scite configuration might be slightly different here and there - unfortunately I know practically nothing about Scite except that it's a very nice editor that works well with the AutoIt tools in most other ways. Any tips on how to solve this? [edit] Please ignore my hideous stupidity. I checked the Scite config program, which helpfully told me that the default shell action for .au3 files is to open them in Scite - which was why the tab opened in Scite when trying to preview from Koda. Whoops! Changed it to run .au3 files by default and it works now. Edited September 24, 2009 by exolon

corgano Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 (edited) In the object inspector box, they seem to be in a random order. could you rearrange them to an order that makes sense? like have it:text left, top, width, height. Using the order that they are programmed in would be much nicer ( as many people tweak or edit gui's by hand too) *edit* Alphabetical order does not make too much sense. What i mean is like guicreate("title",$width,$height,$x,$y,other crap), why couldnt it be in that order? JackDinn Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 (edited) sorry to ask i have searched but does koda work in win7 ? iv tried the 1.7.2.1 but its all messed up. I can open koda but if i click options, run form preview or generate code it just hangs, its making the temp file & opening it into SciTH but just not doing anything with it. the only way i can then exit koda is either to end its process or go back to SciTE and hit "Ctrl pause". then Koda shuts down. dunno if it might help but when the temp .au3 file is loaded into sciTE by Koda, SciTE hangs almost like it is running the script but there is only one line at the bottom >"E:\Program Files\AutoIt3\SciTE\Koda\FD.exe" /Scite Edited November 16, 2009 by JackDinn Thx all,Jack Dinn. JackDinn Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 (edited) well installed AI a fresh on VMWare xp and found why it was not running the form preview, was because i have the .au3 set to edit not run ! but on my main comp even if i set the setting in SciTE to run not edit it dont run .aue scripts it still edits them? o its just 2 early in the morn for this. in win 7 when you right click on an .au3 file you get 2 options , run script and edit script, but how do yo get win7 to run a .au3 instead of just editing it when you just click it? Lazycat Posted November 16, 2009 Author Posted November 16, 2009 any ideas why the options just make koda hang, ?Try to check access rights of folder where Koda installed. Koda is portable and should have write access to file fd.xml in it's folder. Or try to run Koda "as administrator".well installed AI a fresh on VMWare xp and found why it was not running the form preview, was because i have the .au3 set to edit not run ! but on my main comp even if i set the setting in SciTE to run not edit it dont run .aue scripts it still edits them? You can try to set form's run method to "Manual" and set explicit path to Autoit executable (in options). This method is independent from registry verbs, and form preview should work. Koda homepage ([s]Outdated Koda homepage[/s]) (Bug Tracker)My Autoit script page ([s]Outdated mirror[/s])
JackDinn Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 ok iv found it, but only while checking through all you suggestions, it was to early in the morning as i found that the options menu was opening on a display device that i left on thats basically for my TV (watching films on) ! dohhh! it dont usually affect anything but on occasion a window might open over on that display. so looks like it was not hanging at all was just that i couldn't see the window. just my stupidity & forgetfulness.all sorted now, thx guys i dont know what id do without you lot Thx all,Jack Dinn. Zoldex Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Hello, I'm an occasional Koda user (wordeful app, btw) so forgive me if this question looks silly, but i didn't find any hint through the whole forum about my problem. Actually using koda v1.7.1.0 (also tried newer betas) both on XP sp3 and 7 x64. I've created a small gui with a picture inside but the odd thing is that it takes ages to save the form (about 4-5 minutes ) When done, if i quit koda and launch it again, if I try to open the previously saved gui it loads the form correctly but WITHOUT the picture. I've also tried to delete the picture from the gui and save again: it's slow as well. It seems that whatever i do with that gui it always takes age to save, even if i save with other names. I've also tried to raplace the picture with an icon, with same results. Then I've tried to make a completely new form, loading the same picture, the same icon and a lot of controls and... it works good! looking at the .kxf file I see that it's about 8MB large and after opening with an editor i see this: expandcollapse popup<?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1251"?> <object type="TAForm" name="AutoSap_GUI"> <properties> <property name="Left" vt="Int16">192</property> <property name="Top" vt="Int16">132</property> <property name="Width" vt="Int16">514</property> <property name="Height" vt="Int16">371</property> <property name="Caption" vt="String">AutoSap_GUI</property> <property name="Color" vt="Ident">clBtnFace</property> <property name="Font.Charset" vt="Ident">DEFAULT_CHARSET</property> <property name="Font.Color" vt="Ident">clWindowText</property> <property name="Font.Height" vt="Int8">-13</property> <property name="Font.Name" vt="String">MS Sans Serif</property> <property name="Font.Style" vt="Set"/> <property name="Icon.Data" vt="Binary"> <bin>000001000B00000000000000200028801000B600000000000000000020002820</bin> <bin>0400DE80100010100000000020006804000006A1140018180000000020008809</bin> <bin>00006EA514002020000000002000A8100000F6AE14003030000000002000A825</bin> <bin>00009EBF140040400000000020002842000046E514006060000000002000A894</bin> <bin>00006E27150077B2000000002000C06A1B0016BC150080800000000020002808</bin> <bin>0100D6263100C0C000000000200028520200FE2E320028000000000200000004</bin> <bin>0000010020000000000000002000000000000000000000000000000000000000</bin> <bin>0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000</bin> <bin>0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000</bin> <bin>0000000000000000000000000000000000000000003F9FA2A0FFFCFFFDFFFBFE</bin> [lots of these bin .................... !! then the rest of my form] [...........] <property name="Caption" vt="String">Annulla</property> <property name="TabOrder" vt="Int8">6</property> <property name="Color" vt="Ident">clBtnFace</property> <property name="CtrlStyle" vt="Int32">1342390272</property> <property name="CtrlExStyle" vt="Int8">0</property> <property name="Resizing" vt="Set">DockWidth, DockHeight</property> </properties> <components/> </object> </components> </object> It looks like it tried to decode the whole picture (or icon) and save it in the form! There's any way I can fix this? Thanks in advance for any help.

Saving whole picture for controls was removed ages ago - except form icon (because it can be used as image for template), so this should not be issue. In case you got 8 mb file, your icon should be about 4 mb About the case when your picture not loading after form loading. The only thing I can suggest so far - check that picture available at the path where it was when designing. Also check "PicturePath" property inside xml - the path to you image saved correctly? That's because it was a picture that has been converted in a multi-size icon, and used respectively as a 16x16 form icon and a 128x128 image inside the form. After converting the picture again in a single 16x16 .ico file fixed the problem.Maybe it was also the cause of the missing image after loading the form...Thanks!
