Moderators SmOke_N Posted September 28, 2006 Author Moderators Share Posted September 28, 2006 Smoke_N: is it possible for you to implement so ESC wouldn't ask you if you want to quit EncodeIt? I use Esc preety much in a lot of applications like Miranda or Text files to hide things and since EncodeIt works in the background for quite a while it asks me all the time if i want to quit Not realy big thing but i think you could make it systray app so when encoding it would be hidden (and only visible in systray). When done it would pop-out or so. You could add progress in baloon-tips. Just some suggestions. Anyway Great app I don't think I'm going to put too much more into it to be honest MadBoy. I've already proven to myself that adding stuff in after the fact, I tend to break more things Common sense plays a role in the basics of understanding AutoIt... MadBoy
Are you using the Strip Code option? I don't think it's a good idea, and I think I'm going to take it out. I just didn't spend enough time testing it for accuracy. Hrmms, i thought you need to choose file for strip to happen.. but seems like there was option in .ini file 'strip = 4' or so. Maybe that was it. I'm trying without it. Btw that ESC button is realy annoying. Especially that it takes 40 minutes for me to encode my stuff and i can't use it then You could for example add Button[2] in place where it says Start Encoding so Button label changes to Terminate Encoding (it stays as Start Encoding all the time while the script is running atm) and that would be the way to quit the script. I know adding more things can break the script but i think that's like 2 lines so shouldn't realy be that bad My little company: Evotec (PL version: Evotec)
MadBoy
I started encoding again without the option "strip" in .ini file and encodeIt crashed again. Maybe someone else can confirm it, might be my computer but never had problems before. My little company: Evotec (PL version: Evotec)

I didn't get any errors with either way, so I can't confirm anything personally. I tried to clean it up a bit, if others are having issues, I'll just revert back to the non-strip one so I don't have to change the code. Had this with my app couple of times, ppl reporting problems i didn't knew existed.Anyways.. is tehre a way you could send me some older version (just before the changes) that would be active so i could check if old one works on my scripts? (of course i didn't left myself the version that i had before because it stopped working ;p). Moderators SmOke_N Posted September 29, 2006 Author Moderators Share Posted September 29, 2006 Download it now, it's just like it was before, but there are some changes. The old ones will not work regardless if I sent it to you or not. I removed the Strip-Code option. Common sense plays a role in the basics of understanding AutoIt... Moderators SmOke_N Posted September 29, 2006 Author Moderators Share Posted September 29, 2006 I had to upload a new version just now.... there was a small mistake I saw that could cause EnCodeIt not to run periodically. frodo
the wording sounds like frodoThis is really disappointing coming from you, as i spent a lot of my early AutoIT time last year reading your posts and learning from your experience. Its fair to say that due to my limited net access, given the choice, when faced between reading your opinion on something and someones else on a similar topic, i followed yours. Even after the stoush the other day i still had respect for you. I cant say the same now sadly. You wouldnt know my "wording" because unlike the really unpleasant few posts i made on here, i dont post messages in that same vein or using that langauge in any other forum im in, because unlike here theyre actually nice people, not elitist wankers like some in here. Sorry, but youre wrong, usually my posts are most light hearted you can find, i generally only post things in a humurous way. Dont think for a minute i like unpleasantness, i dont, but when i encounter it and its out of sheer bloody mindedness, i am not afraid to respond in kind. gafrost,I agree. It is frodo's MO (modus operandi).I'm surprised he didn't blame AutoIt users for preventing him from logging in to the SkinCrafter forum. The boy definately has issues. And at the least, he doesn't know how to use his computer to access forums.I'm sure he will be back. For someone who doesn't have internet access he sure posts a lot of messages. taurus905Again, in a similar response to gafrost , based on a few posts in an hour or so you have an MO for me?Maybe you should be working for the FBI as aprofiler, but then you wouldnt be catching anyone .....I will state categorically for the record that i have never visited the skincrafter forums, not before, during or since my visit here ther other day. I suggest you take more than a few hours than that to form an opinion. For the record in real life (and in 99.9% of my online life) im probably one of the nicest people you will meet, and no one ive ever known , even for 5 mins, has ever had to ask me twice for my help for anything. Thats the kind of person i am.In fact ill go out of my way to do things for people, even to my detriment. And for the record i have an extremely long fuse. But when i hit the kind of smarmy "i can, but you cant" attitude i found the other day in an overwhelmingly helpful forum, the retired soldier in me takes over.As for having issues, i dont have any in the way youre inferring, but if youve been through half of what i have in my life, then id challenge you to come out of it and be as jovial as i am 99.9% of the time.Im really tired of being character assssinated and thats the onyl reason i even bothered to post this message. Im moving beyond caring today and this is the last post on the matter, im getting tired of demonstrating just how small and vindictive some of you are Edited September 29, 2006 by frodo
Valik
Goody, goody. You wouldnt know my "wording" because unlike the really unpleasant few posts i made on here, i dont post messages in that same vein or using that langauge in any other forum im in, because unlike here theyre actually nice people, not elitist wankers like some in here.It is absolutely impossible to call somebody an elitist with intent to use it in a derogatory manner without actually ascending yourself to the very same plateau. You're asserting that your ways are more elitist than his ways by pointing out his ways are elitist. That, in a word, is hypocrisy.Sorry, but youre wrong, usually my posts are most light hearted you can find, i generally only post things in a humurous way. Dont think for a minute i like unpleasantness, i dont, but when i encounter it and its out of sheer bloody mindedness, i am not afraid to respond in kind. That's all very well and good, but do you have to bitch about it? I mean, if you're going to have the "can't beat them join them" attitude, don't talk in the next breath about how you don't like it. I'm not buying it and I don't think anybody else is,either.I suggest you take more than a few hours than that to form an opinion. I think people will believe that about you when they believe this about me.Im really tired of being character assssinated and thats the onyl reason i even bothered to post this message.I hardly call seppuku "assasination".Im moving beyond caring today and this is the last post on the matter, im getting tired of demonstrating just how small and vindictive some of you areYou seen to have pissed off quite a number of people that normally don't get pissed off and involved in these sort of things. The whole flame war thing is kind of my shtick, not theirs. I can't imagine you're perfectly innocent and have done no wrong yet managed to incite what are otherwise even-keeled individuals. So I'm not so sure who the "small and vindictive" people are you that you refer to.All the posts we have to judge you by demonstrate you being a total asshole. That's coming from the forum asshole by the way. Maybe you are the nice person you claim. Does it really matter if I'm an 8-legged alien? If I show you human-ish characteristics, you have nothing else to go off of. Same goes for people who are assholes. You want to be an asshole, pony up to it. You want to be nice, be nice. Don't be an asshole purporting to be nice if you're not willing to show it.

dandymcgee
Wow, people REALLY need to stop making this into a flame war/useless comments thread. It is meant to be used for commenting Smoke_N on his awesome project. This is just my opinion. Anyways, thanks for this really cool project smoke, and I can't wait until you release your next big project to the autoit community (whatever it may be)(also, not trying to convince everyone that you DO have a big project you are working on right now, because if you did I'd probably be one of the last to find out). MadBoy
@Smoke_N: As we spoke on pm some weeks ago i noticed that problem with crashing dissapears if i comment these lines in my script. expandcollapse popup#include <GuiListView.au3> Dim $devicelist = GUICtrlCreateListView("Device ID|Device Name|Status", 10, 95, 615, 225, BitOR($LVS_NOSORTHEADER, $LVS_REPORT, $LVS_SHOWSELALWAYS), BitOR($LVS_EX_FULLROWSELECT, $LVS_EX_GRIDLINES, $LVS_EX_SUBITEMIMAGES)) GUICtrlSetResizing($devicelist, $GUI_DOCKALL) _GUICtrlListViewSetColumnWidth($devicelist, 0, 250) _GUICtrlListViewSetColumnWidth($devicelist, 1, 300) _GUICtrlListViewSetColumnWidth($devicelist, 2, 50) GUIRegisterMsg($WM_NOTIFY, "WM_Notify_Events") _GUICtrlListViewDeleteAllItems($devicelist) $lv_item = GUICtrlCreateListViewItem($DeviceID & "|" & $DeviceName & "|" & $DeviceDriverStatus, $devicelist) ; WM_NOTIFY event handler Func WM_Notify_Events($hWndGUI, $MsgID, $wParam, $lParam) #forceref $hWndGUI, $MsgID, $wParam ;ListView Events Local Const $NM_FIRST = 0 Local Const $NM_CLICK = ($NM_FIRST - 2) Local Const $NM_DBLCLK = ($NM_FIRST - 3) Local $tagNMHDR, $event, $hwndFrom, $code $tagNMHDR = DllStructCreate("int;int;int", $lParam) ;NMHDR (hwndFrom, idFrom, code) If @error Then Return $event = DllStructGetData($tagNMHDR, 3) Select Case $wParam = $devicelist Select Case $event = $NM_CLICK ListView_Click() Case $event = $NM_DBLCLK ListView_DoubleClick() EndSelect EndSelect $tagNMHDR = 0 $event = 0 $lParam = 0 EndFunc ;==>WM_Notify_Events Func ListView_Click() ;GUICtrlSetData($lbl, _GUICtrlListViewGetItemText($ListView, _GUICtrlListViewGetSelectedIndices($ListView))) EndFunc ;==>ListView_Click Func ListView_DoubleClick() MsgBox(0, "Double Clicked", _GUICtrlListViewGetItemText($devicelist, _GUICtrlListViewGetSelectedIndices($devicelist))) EndFunc ;==>ListView_DoubleClick I give my bet that's GuiListView is the reason why it doesn't work but i am not realy able to diagnose where the problem might be with GuiListView.au3 (newest beta). I tried to encode GuiListView itself but it crashed your program once and 2 times it encoded it successfully. So i'm not realy sure if the reason is my Windows, computer or what can it be As there's no debug mode in your program it's hard to know where it crashes on what lines for normal user In 99% of times it crashes on Step4.
