Where to save the file msedgedriver.exe?

I run wd_demo.au3 and get the error

_WD_Startup ==> File issue [20] : Non-existent Web Driver: msedgedriver.exe

I have the file stored with the wd_demo.au3 script and also in the AutoIt3 directory and I keep getting this error. I can't think of where to put it

Hi @K8_,

the wd_*.au3 files and all the dependencies (BinaryCall.au3, Json.au3, WinHttp.au3, WinHttpConstants.au3) have to be in the same directory (as default). Otherwise you have to adjust the paths in the UDFs (wd_*.au3) files. Then the browser, in your case msedgedriver.exe, is also expected in this directory. As far as I remember, the wd_demo.au3 is set to download the necessary driver by default (at the specific location - same directory as the UDF files).

Please check out my repository au3webdriver-boilerplate which should help you starting your webdriver actions.
In case you're familiar with GitHub, just clone the repo and go ahead (by reading the README.md file).
Otherwise download the release (zip), and start there (by reading the README.md file).

Not by default.

Using wd_demo.au3 you need to change COMBO BOX option to force driver update.

So there must be some error in AutoIt, because I have all the files in one folder and the msedgedriver.exe file is looking for it in the c:\Windows\system32 folder, when I copy this folder with wd_demo.au3 and other files including msedgedriver.exe to another PC , where I have the same version of AutoIt, it works fine for me there.

When you copy all the files to the same directory ?

Please try to use this modified: https://github.com/mlipok/au3WebDriver/blob/WinHttp.WinHttpRequest.5.1/wd_helper.au3

and check if it update driver when you for to update them.

Hi @K8_,

this is unfortunate. Did you try my suggested "tryout" using the au3webdriver-boilerplate like in post #2 described?
I mean you simply could try how the behavior would be by using this approach. Then you could probably do a comparison afer this?
What do you think?

Simply download it, set msedge and start it. For a better understanding you should read the README, but it should basically work.
