Oracle Virtual Machine & script editor

Hello I'm having issues with virtual machine and autoit script editor.  I have the latest versions and I have it set up exactly like my host computer its been working and the script source is not the issue I cant even edit an example.au3 in the editor.  If I open the script in notepad the source is written perfect i can even copy and paste it into the editor, the scroll bar updates but the text or lines are not showing.  It seems when the editor opens the text is not appearing and i cannot even write a new code with as the text is not displayed.

Also all my .exe are working perfectly it has somthing to do with the editor installation or maybe I need to enable something for vm?

I'm using windows 7 op on virtual box vm

Any ideas or suggestions?

Are we talking about the scite that comes with autoit3 installer or the seperate installer?

What happens when you select all text in SciTE?

Check the content of the Au3 properties file by opening it is scite. Check which directory it is located. 

Check the content & location of sciteuser.properties.

ty for your response Jos I hold you at high regard I have learned much from your additions to autoit over the years.

There is no text to select if I try to select all text visible. 

but if i ctrl-a and then ctrl-v into notepad the source shows up in notepad.

Interesting enough if I go into the help file what i was typing previously shows up in the help GUI input box.

I am using 3 files for install on my main pc and they work great one beta version updated made by you. But on this virtual machine even after the main scite install that comes with autoit3 installer it gives me the issue i'm having.

I located the file sciteuser.properties. what am i looking for in this  it only has 2 lines.

The 2 lines are:
import au3.UserUdfs
import au3.keywords.user.abbreviations

and the directory is

C:\Users\SYSTEM\AppData\Local\AutoIt v3\SciTE

and my install Dir for autoit is:

C:\Program Files (x86)

That content is/should be abbrev.properties, not sciteuser.properties.

So please check the content of C:\Users\SYSTEM\AppData\Local\AutoIt v3\SciTE\SciTEUser.properties.
.. and what about au3.properties file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Autoit3\SciTE\propeties\au3.properties?

These 2 files are the main files used for determining the fonts and colors used for the characters.

Ty I resolved the issue.  The Virtual machine was in need of updates. .net frameworks
