tbodine88 Posted September 16, 2022 Share Posted September 16, 2022 I have an app I use for logging that I started writing in 2004. I have used it all that time. I needed to add a time out. Whenever tried something like this $start = _Date_Time_GetLocalTime() sleep(10) $next = _Date_Time_GetLocalTime() $diff = _DateDiff( $next, $start) $diff would always turn out to be zero. I messed around with formatting $start and $next, but still got zero. so I did this instead Func tomsTimeStamp() Local $timestamp = StringFormat("%04d/%02d/%02d %02d:%02d:%02d",@YEAR,@MON,@MDAY,@HOUR,@MIN,@SEC) Return $timestamp EndFunc Func tomsTimeToSeconds( $timestamp) Local $part = StringRegExp($timestamp,"(\d+)\/(\d+)\/(\d+) (\d+):(\d+):(\d+)",$STR_REGEXPARRAYMATCH ) Local $year = $part[0] Local $month = $part[1] Local $day = $part[2] Local $hour = $part[3] Local $minute = $part[4] Local $second = $part[5] Local $totalSeconds = 0 $year = $year - 1970 $totalSeconds = $second $totalSeconds = $totalSeconds + $minute * 60 $totalSeconds = $totalSeconds + ( $hour *60 *60 ) $totalSeconds = $totalSeconds + $day * 86400 $totalSeconds = $totalSeconds + $year * 31557600 Return $totalSeconds EndFunc $StartTime = tomsTimeStamp() Sleep( 10000) $newTime = tomsTimeStamp() $difference = tomsTimeToSeconds($newTime) - tomsTimeToSeconds($StartTime) MsgBox($IDOK ,"The","Difference is " & $difference,5) I think its a personal problem, with the above code my Logger has a time out for those times I'm to busy to press OK.
