Why exactly would i need to change something that has been this way since day one in the standard au3.api file?

I like it to be correct in the build API files, but can't reproduce the issue you see. Any chance of a simple reproducer?

That is fine...  the first ( will create the Tooltip and the other ('s are simply characters for the first keyword. SciTE doesn't do any other smart things when people type stupid stuff for a keyword that isn't valid for the language at hand.

Thanks for that nd will have a look ..... but as mentioned before: No need to include a whole portable set of executables as I can't test with that on my laptop anyways as I have used the installer and registry& environment settings are defined/standard!  Just the required source code will suffice.  

So guess I need to test with test.au3 in AutoItPortable_for_JOS__testing_LUA\AutoItPortable\Example ?

Seems to work fine for me.

Try removing the *.tbl files so they will be rebuild as it could be the cached versions is used.

Steps to reproduce:

unpack to "C:\"
I delete all *.tbl and all *.dynamic.calltips.api files

run c:\AutoItPortable\App\SciTEv5\SciTE.exe
and open c:\AutoItPortable\BACKSLASH\test1.au3
and open c:\AutoItPortable\BACKSLASH\Projects\test2.au3

But I wanted to give an oportunity to check if I have all my EVN updated and in correct version.

Lua scripts are the same as I use.

My result of the test with my setup:

So they look good for me.

btw. why in mine are "1." just in front of "FileUDF (...."

Ok...  after some digging I found the reason of the difference in displaying 1 or 2 backslashes when the API contains \\:

I had for some mystic reason this one in my SciTEUser.properties:

calltip.*.use.escapes=1

... so that is the reason and this means that I have to change the script to only save a single \ for the include text to the dynamic api files.
Will change the script and upload a new zip file.

Uploaded an update of the Zip file with the following changes:

• Added indent correction when AutoComplete inserts {ENTER} 
• Added indent correction for Continuation lines.
• Fixed issue with Current Scriptfile Variables not shown when they are an exact match.
