These are very interesting results... It looks like increasing the $nBlockSize so dramatically forces the buffer to automatically flush or something...
With the larger $nBlockSize the script behaves a lot more like when one adds FileFlush() into the loop, except FileFlush() is a lot slower.

I'm going to do some more testing. This might actually be the solution to my problem...

Which last line you mean ?

I had put that in because I couldn't find any big meaningful changes that you made.
That was before I saw that you had increased the $nBlockSize.
