I checked this in SciTE which I use: SciTE4AutoIt3 (Version 4.4.6   Mar 16 2021 13:51:55)

I think I already saw this a year or even 2 years ago.

If memory serves me correctly, we have already talked about this issue, possibly in an open forum or in private messages, quite possibly it's already reported on:
https://sourceforge.net/p/scintilla/bugs/

It has been over a year since the last update of the full SciTE4AutoIt3 installer which mainly had to do with the fact that Neil was moving toward v5 of SciTE and there weren't many functional changes

Not sure what the cause is so need to debug. Please post the file you tested with so I can check. :)

Thanks!  ...  but I can't get it to go wrong (yet) and tried the steps as shown in the video.

I am working on it, but I have a few questions unrelated to the bug reported.


How this feature is named/called:

Step 1:
Select Const in Line 4 , holding CTRL select Const in line 8, holding CTRL select Const in line 6

This is kind of standard windows:

Selecting a second part with Ctrl means the first part stays selected and then when you start typing you override all selected parts with what you type. 

You can also select an whole block by Ctrl+Alt and move the mouse to complete the block ...   then start typing and you will see that all rows are changes to the text typed.

Very useful in SciTE.
But both Notepad and OOWriter don't have similar functionality, so it doesn't appear to be standard Windows functionality.

The standard windows part is multi select by using Ctrl, but it indeed doesn't mean all windows programs support the functionality. Explorer supports the multi selecting by using Ctrl ...right?:)

@SzymonN This is probably an issue specific to Sci-TE. And, good luck with Win11 😁

Does it also happen when you test with the official version distributed by Neil?

I am not in a position to test as I do not have win11 at my disposal at the moment and would have to setup a VM for that.

Do you mean the version from this page https://www.scintilla.org/SciTEDownload.html ? It doesn't support auto-complementation of macros from Autoit, so I can't repeat the error

Yes it does, you just have to use the shortcut to make it autocomplete in stead of a lua script ding that for you.....   OR you could just replace the SciTE.exe for testing so the lua scripts still work. ;)
