Abbrevs case sensitive

Why the abbrevs are case sensitive, and more important, is how to fix it?

mb expanded, but MB or Mb does not.

Ah, you have just solved a mystery. 

I always wondered why sometime when i type the text, the abbreviation text  is triggered.

Because i usually do not use them, i was not bothered to ask.

That indeed seems to be the standard behavior of SciTE...  there isn't much in the documentation about it.

Here is a fix for that:

AutoItAbbrevExpand.lua

AddEventHandler("OnChar", function(c)
	if IsLexer(SCLEX_AU3) then
		local style = editor.StyleAt[editor.CurrentPos - 2]
		if (style == SCE_AU3_EXPAND) and (c == " ") then
			editor:DeleteBack()
			local word = GetCurrentWord()
			editor.SelectionStart = editor.CurrentPos - #word
			editor:ReplaceSel(word:lower())
			scite.MenuCommand(IDM_ABBREV)
		end
	end
end)

This works only if we use Space key to expand of course, i use only this method.

It can be adapted to Ctrl+B as well i think, but this one is enough for me.

I use abbrevs every day multiple times, for different functions, standard and my own.
Many people do not know what this is, how to use them, why to use them, how it helps, even that they exist.

Maybe somebody want a youtube video about that ?

... so you replace the abbrev with its lowercase version and then expand?
.. and why a separate lua function?

Obviously this will not make Ctrl+B work, which is the standard shortcut for expand.

The idea is to replace the abbrev name with it's lowercase value, the call the expand abbrev command.

Replace this:

GetCurrentWord() is something you made for yourself?

This works for me:
