FileOpen vs _WinAPI_CreateFile - are they interchangeable?

AutoIt offers two families of functions for file operations: the native File* functions, and the equivalent functions from the WinAPI UDF. looking at FileOpen vs _WinAPI_CreateFile, what i learn from the help file is this:

1) FiieOpen allows to specify encoding, whlie _WinAPI_CreateFile does not.

2) _WinAPI_CreateFile allows to specify sharing mode and attributes, while FileOpen does not.

3) both functions return a file handle (on success).

so, a question: are they interchangeable? can i create a new file with _WinAPI_CreateFile instead of FileOpen, and then use FileWrite to write to the file, instead of _WinAPI_WriteFile? and close the file with FileClose instead of _WinAPI_CloseHandle? etc.

(the reason i'm asking is that i'm comfortable with native functions - e.g. FileWrite is by far simpler than _WinAPI_WriteFile - except that i need to create a file with specific sharing mode, which is possible only with _WinAPI_CreateFile).

No.  They do not share the same handle...

Edit : recently I tested both approaches, and _WinAPI_* are faster than File* to perform the same job. JFYI
