Why can't I write the minus (-) or the plus sign (+) in the AutoIt code editor ?

If I want to write this line:

You must enter the ";" then the sign "-". Okay !

The AutoIt editor does not allow me to type the "-" or "+" signs :

Have you installed the full SciTE editor or just AutoIt with the stripped down editor?

If you're using + - from the numeric keypad. It will react the way you're talking about.  

You could just use the + and - from the keys above [TY] and [^$] It will react as you want. 

 

It can be a bit messy on laptop.

Not sure if it's AZERTY reaction, because I'm french too and it always did that. Not an issue for me. 

It is doing this with SciTE normal and SciTE full with all extension.

Mine is 00000407 for German

The hint from @caramen is correct. Now I understand the problem. The minus sign from the NUM block is used to comment a line in or out.

I haven't even thought about this issue, because I've been using it for ages .

For the minus sign above [TY], it's OK.

But for [^ $], it gives "=" on my keyboard.

When I did Shift + [^ $], it gives "+"

So, I tried Shift + "-" and Shift + "+" from the numeric keypad and it works great.

I mean it work like that since I started to use AutoIt, so I thought it was a normal behavior.

So for me the keypad - is the shortcut to comment sometime. But I prefer use CTRL + Q it is doing same. 

The + from keypad is the "shortcut" to toggle the current fold. 

 

About the + + maj

When you do a + with keys above letters you have to push maj in 040c. So nothing shock me until now.
