LogExpert is Free. Very fast and written in c#. Why reinvent the wheel. It is a full blown application that can do anything your hearts desire regarding viewing log files and parsing them

My resources are limited. You must ask the right questions

Well if all he wants is log expert I have boils down to the necessary DLLs and created a custom installer in case people didn’t want to use chocolatey to install it. It’s on github and I highly recommend it I use it every day as I watch my production builds roll I can keep an eye on  failures and warnings

In my case, my logs are not standard format and I'd like have separate column for each section of the log, which I can sort by, including moving around. On top of that colorize based on certain criteria individual cells and/or entire line (i.e. colored based on status)

There is no way return the data into variable without creating additional files?
