IE : Object error while .navigate

Recommended Posts

Hi Community

I got a sporadic error that I have difficulties to handle

I would be pleased to bypass this error but I am with AutoIT v3.3.15.1 which does not contain anymore  _IEErrorHandlerRegister()

The code, is part of a loop consiting in filling a webpage about 3 times / mn, so it is in a loop

Console ( "MSG", $sFunction_Name, 'Navigation vers "' & $URL & '"', $bLog )
$hTimer_Loads = TimerInit ( )
_IENavigate ( $oIE, $URL, 1 )
$Error = @error
$Time_Loads += TimerDiff ( $hTimer_Loads )
Console ( "MSG", $sFunction_Name, $URL & " chargée", $bLog )

The error

MSG CNIP_Demande_de_travaux         Navigation vers "https://myurl.com"
"C:\Program Files (x86)\AutoIt3 beta\Include\IE.au3" (272) : ==> The requested action with this object has failed.:
$oObject.navigate($sUrl)
$oObject^ ERROR

This error shouldn't be fatal because the script continued to next step flawlessly before crashing

Have you any idea on how to handle this please ?

Regards

Ok, going to start with testing object as handling COM error is a bit confusing for me
If so should I handle COm error on object or with DOM method ?

To my mind $oIE can't be anything else than an object beacuse it is one for at least 30 loops, but at loop 31 such error occurs, as if the loading page didn't end up correctly and the next function is anyway called

If you loose $oIE object, it means that you have another problem on your hands.  I have experienced this when running IE UDF in x86 (especially if I was extracting tables into arrays).  After I changed to run in x64 the problem disappeared.  The behavior of your script seems very similar of what I experienced.  It runs fine for a certain number of loops and suddenly I get object errors.  Try this first then if that didn't solve your issue, post a more substantial part of your script.

This is what i also do, I extract massive tables to AutoIT arrays to fasten treatment
