Inerting new XML taggings in XML file

Recommended Posts

Hi Experts,

I need your assistance on this one I'm a bit exhausted doing some searching and reading just to get my required XML tag from my source XML😄.

I need to paste the below new XML tagging into an existing XML file. My trigger where to insert these new XML tag into the existing XML file is the element "<Body>". After the <Body> tag, below new tag will be inserted.☺️

<Para Type="AttributeHere">
<Emphasis Type="Bold">Information</Emphasis>
<UnorderedList Mark="None">
</Heading>An event is serious (based on the ICH definition) when the patient outcome is:</Heading>
<ItemContent><Para>* death</Para></ItemContent>
<ItemContent><Para>* life-threatening</Para></ItemContent>
<ItemContent><Para>* hospitalisation</Para></ItemContent>
<ItemContent><Para>* disability</Para></ItemContent>
<ItemContent><Para>* congenital anomaly</Para></ItemContent>
<ItemContent><Para>* other medically important event</Para></ItemContent>
<ItemContent><Para>* Drug interaction</Para></ItemContent>
</UnorderedList></Para>

Here's the XML file:

And I need to insert the above tag after the element <Body>. See below:

Thanks in advance Experts.✌️🤤

Got it, Experts. I solved my own post😆😆😆 using below code.

$sFilePath = @ScriptDir & '\Testing.xml'
    Local $hFileOpen = FileOpen($sFilePath, $FO_READ)
    If $hFileOpen = -1 Then
        MsgBox($MB_SYSTEMMODAL, "", "An error occurred when reading the file.")
        Return False
     EndIf
   Local $sFileRead = FileRead($hFileOpen)
   FileClose($hFileOpen)
_insertLineToFile(@ScriptDir & '\' &$tessa, '<Body>', $sFileRead)

Func _insertLineToFile($filePath, $after, $insertText)
    Local $lines
    If Not _FileReadToArray($filePath, $lines) Then Return -1
    _ArrayInsert($lines, _ArraySearch($lines, $after, 1, 0, 0) + 1, $insertText)
    If _FileWriteFromArray($filePath, $lines, 1) Then Return 1
    Return -2
EndFunc   ;==>_insertLineToFile

Or do it using the most simple way ^_^

$insert = "<Para Type=""AttributeHere"">" & @crlf & _
    "<Emphasis Type=""Bold"">Information</Emphasis>" & @crlf & _
    "<UnorderedList Mark=""None"">" & @crlf & _
    "</Heading>An event is serious when the patient outcome is:</Heading>" & @crlf & _
    "<ItemContent><Para>* death</Para></ItemContent>" & @crlf & _
    "<ItemContent><Para>* Drug interaction</Para></ItemContent>" & @crlf & _
    "</UnorderedList></Para>"

$txt = "something 1" & @crlf & "<Body>" & @crlf & "something 2"
Msgbox(0,"", $txt)

$tmp = StringSplit($txt, "<Body>", 3)
$txt = $tmp[0] & "<Body>" & $insert & $tmp[1]
Msgbox(0,"", $txt)

Hi Experts,

Thanks for your usual response, help and support. However, in my other post I have this question on how to insert the newly created XML tag into an active XML file or let's say I have a XML file opened in notepad++ and I need to insert these tags in the active XML file. Is there a way to do that?☺️
