diepfeile Posted July 20, 2019 Share Posted July 20, 2019 I tried the Beta Maps and they are really cool. When will they be implemented in the normal version? And will they be implemented better, like in Python? Autoit Beta now: Local $mMap[] $mMap['Colorado'] = 'Rockies' $mMap['Boston'] = 'Red Sox' $mMap['Minnesota'] = 'Twins' Python: MLB_team = { 'Colorado' : 'Rockies', 'Boston' : 'Red Sox', 'Minnesota': 'Twins', 'Milwaukee': 'Brewers', 'Seattle' : 'Mariners' } Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

diepfeile Posted July 20, 2019 Author Share Posted July 20, 2019 What is buggy about them? I had no problems using them, they compound arrays very nicely. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Moderators Melba23 Posted July 21, 2019 Moderators Share Posted July 21, 2019 diepfeile, In short the current map implementation seems to work fine as a stand-alone datatype but it appears to be very buggy when used within another data container such as an array or another map or when ByRef is involved. As such Jon is understandably unwilling to include this flawed implementation in a formal release - and fixing the issue is apparently very far from trivial. jchd Posted July 21, 2019 Share Posted July 21, 2019 Also there have been several confirmed reports of simple use cases where entries in a Map suddenly get removed with no reason. It's a pity but that explains why it's currently being discarded. Use scripting dictionnary instead. This wonderful site allows debugging and testing regular expressions (many flavors available). iamtheky Posted July 21, 2019 Share Posted July 21, 2019 (edited) even that can get unwieldy when you start dropping dicitonaries in dictionaries, but here's a decent head start Edited July 21, 2019 by iamtheky ,-. .--. ________ .-. .-. ,---. ,-. .-. .-. .-. |(| / /\ \ |\ /| |__ __||| | | || .-' | |/ / \ \_/ )/ (_) / /__\ \ |(\ / | )| | | `-' | | `-. | | / __ \ (_) | | | __ | (_)\/ | (_) | | .-. | | .-' | | \ |__| ) ( | | | | |)| | \ / | | | | | |)| | `--. | |) \ | | `-' |_| (_) | |\/| | `-' /( (_)/( __.' |((_)-' /(_| '-' '-' (__) (__) (_) (__) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
diepfeile Posted July 22, 2019 Author Share Posted July 22, 2019 Yeah hmm, found some weird stuff on the forum about them. Luckily I haven't encountered anything in my scripts, despite using them in nearly everyone of them, sometimes even maps in maps! Damn they are such a nice addition, but now I know why they are still in beta. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
