AD UDF and special characters in Distinguished Names

When using special characters (e.g. ,\#+<>;"= and space) in Distinguished Names they need to be escaped.
The AD UDF provides a function to escape/unescape such special characters but unfortunately does not do it 100% perfect.

The question now is:
Should the AD UDF be enhanced to fully support special characters in all provided functions?
As this can become quite complex and I do not have full access to our AD (means: I can not create objects with special characters and hence can't test) I would like to know if this is worth the effort.

Please answer the poll so I know how many of you use special characters and would like to see me enhance the AD UDF.
