orbs Posted April 5, 2019 Share Posted April 5, 2019 (edited) so i have some long old scripts, with many long functions in them. i need to revisit them for updates and modifications. i wrote them functions relating to global variables (rather than using ByRef). i want to track which function relates to which global variable in which script. how would i go about this? is there any built-in way to do it in SciTE? orbs Posted April 5, 2019 Author Share Posted April 5, 2019 could do that, but for who knows how many dozens of variables... meanwhile i found some sort of a way - i copy the function to a new empty file, then i do SyntaxCheck (Ctrl+F5) - i get warnings like "possibly used before declaration", "possibly not declared/created yet", "undeclared global variable" etc. i still need to walk them one-by-one, but that's a start. BrewManNH Posted April 5, 2019 Share Posted April 5, 2019 One thing that might help, you can go to the Tidy folder in the scite folder and open the TidyV2_Example.ini file, and change the lines below. Quote * * * Generate Documentation file for the Program and optionally Display it with Notepad at the end ot the Tidy run Gen_Doc=1 Gen_Doc_Show=1 Normally they're set to 0. then save the file as Tidy.ini and make a minor tidying change to your script, and run Tidy on it.
