maniootek Posted March 10, 2019 Share Posted March 10, 2019 Is it possible to detect parameter which was used to launch some already running exe file? Please note this is not about $CmdLine variable which is used inside the script. (If you want to know reason why I need it, please read below) Spoiler I have autoit script which is used by many users. I used to keep compiled file in cloud directory which was synchronized over users PC. Unfortunately this was not good idea when it comes to change the script. Sometimes I could not delete used by someone compiled exe file so I changed strategy. I started to keep au3 file instaed of compiled exe file and user launched this script as a paramter with autoit.exe. In this case I could update my script anytime. Now I am trying to detect in process list which says "autoit.exe" which script is it. I can not detect it via WinList() function as this is guiless. I can search for systray icon and read the text but maybe there is other way? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Nine Posted March 10, 2019 Share Posted March 10, 2019 Look at _WinAPI_GetProcessCommandLine () in help file. The example works perfect. You will be able to adjust for what you need. maniootek 1 “They did not know it was impossible, so they did it” ― Mark Twain Spoiler Block all input without UAC Save/Retrieve Images to/from Text Monitor Management (VCP commands) Tool to search in text (au3) files Date Range Picker Virtual Desktop Manager Sudoku Game 2020 Overlapped Named Pipe IPC HotString 2.0 - Hot keys with string x64 Bitwise Operations Multi-keyboards HotKeySet Recursive Array Display Fast and simple WCD IPC Multiple Folders Selector Printer Manager GIF Animation (cached) Screen Scraping Multi-Threading Made Easy Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

By the way, fortunately Autoit3.exe process does not require Admini privileges to use _WinAPI_GetProcessCommandLine() function. 😌 Edited March 10, 2019 by maniootek Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

maniootek Posted March 10, 2019 Author Share Posted March 10, 2019 Function already working for me #include-once #include <WinAPIProc.au3> Func AlreadyRunningProcess() Local Const $FuncName = "AlreadyRunningProcess()" Local $aList = ProcessList("AutoIt3.exe") Local $iPID Local $sProcessCommandLine For $i = 1 To $aList[0][0] $iPID = $aList[$i][1] $sProcessCommandLine = _WinAPI_GetProcessCommandLine($iPID) if $sProcessCommandLine = '"' & @ScriptFullPath & '"' then ConsoleWrite($FuncName & " - " & "Process already running.
