zuladabef
Hello, I downloaded the AutoIt– Self Extracting Archive, but when I try to run the Help file (AutoIt.chm, and the AutoIt3Help.exe) the screen remains blank. Is there something I did wrong? Screenshots included. Thanks for the help!
Nine
You may need to unblock the .chm file. Right click on it, go to properties. At the bottom, there should be a button to unblock it. zuladabef 1 “They did not know it was impossible, so they did it” ― Mark Twain Spoiler Block all input without UAC Save/Retrieve Images to/from Text Monitor Management (VCP commands) Tool to search in text (au3) files Date Range Picker Virtual Desktop Manager Sudoku Game 2020 Overlapped Named Pipe IPC HotString 2.0 - Hot keys with string x64 Bitwise Operations Multi-keyboards HotKeySet Recursive Array Display Fast and simple WCD IPC Multiple Folders Selector Printer Manager GIF Animation (cached) Screen Scraping Multi-Threading Made Easy

Earthshine
In Vista, if the chm is detected from a different computer, windows blocks it. I've got 146 of them local and none need unblocking, nor does it show up. this may just be a Vista thing. Win10 does not have this. Being a compiled HTML, it's most likely security reasons why this was ever a thing. I think it's how Windows deals with stuff from the Internet mostly, so sure, security. *Update, I read about it and I guess in Win10 if you download a CHM file, it will be blocked by default. I think he was getting at the why not the how which is nice to know. Edited January 9, 2019 by Earthshine My resources are limited. Earthshine
I just tried to get the ZIP and our security devices disallows it as Trojan, lol. I have to use the installer version. I wanted to see the Unblock button for myself. this is what I get, someone should make sure it's actually clean--but most likely we are blocking UPX packers by default. This request is blocked by the SonicWALL Gateway Anti-Virus Service. Name: Downloader.GN_8 (Trojan) blocked. Edited January 9, 2019 by Earthshine My resources are limited. Skysnake
Forgive a possibly redundant question... But was that unzipped to local drive? I simply made my application first copy the help file to a local folder, then open it. On local, it worked first time, every time Skysnake Why is the snake in the sky? Somerset
Just in case if the original poster wanted to know why that extension was block(able). Some .chm(s) could have had malicious code, since it is a webpage and can access the internet. (example:BHO and so forth.) Question answered.
