$hSearch = FileFindFirstFile("P:\Moldes\*" & $MoldNo & "*")
$Nome_pasta = ""
$Nome_pasta = FileFindNextFile($hSearch)

$txt = FileOpen("P:\Moldes\" & $Nome_Pasta & "\3D\Olhais.txt")

Hi guys, after searching for a specific folder, I want to create a file in a subfolder in that folder. The code above doesn't work, can someone explain me why?

Thanks in advance,

What EXACTLY are you trying to do, and what EXACTLY isn't working the way you want it to?

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

what's in $MoldNo ?  $Nome_pasta = "" is useless. What is the result in $Nome_pasta ?

$MoldNo is a number that is inserted earlier in the script. $Nome_pasta is the folder in which I want to create a file in. I used MsgBox and the folder name is correct. Also I used this piece of code earlier but instead of FileOpen I had to use FileMove and it worked. What I mean is that

Filemove("C:\Dir", "P:\Moldes\" & $Nome_Pasta & "\3D\Olhais.txt", $FC_OVERWRITE)

worked.

I am trying to create a file inside this directory C:\Dir\$Nome_pasta\3D. If the file already exists, it just opens it. Then I want to write stuff on it so that I can later read it.

Inside C:\Dir I have a lot of folders created already and all of them are identified with a 4 digit unique number, but the rest of the folder's name has random letters.

Also, what happens is that the file simply isn't created.

If the file doesn't exist, using FileOpen in read mode won't create it, you need to use write/append mode to create the file. But, you're not checking to see if the file exists before trying to use FileOpen.

Fileopen with the flag 9 or 10 should work.
