MouseClick & Color Finder [Beginner]

Recommended Posts

<snip>

When I run this function on Computer #1 it works flawlessly. However when I run the exact code on Computer #2 It is not finding the color even though it is defiantly there.

I used Computer #1, #2 as names for my two computers. #1 is a laptop, #2 is an all-in-one desktop computer. Both run windows 10 x64

I am wondering why this code is not executing correctly on Comp #2. I already re-installed autoit, so I know that is not the problem. Do you think it has something to do with my computers settings?

Thanks in advance for the help!

How is this any different than your previous post that was locked?

I am not posting about a game this time. I am posting about a function I have a question on. This program is being used to open a browser and google something. I just like to learn man.

On top of that, although I received replies last time, none of them helped me fix my problem. I appreciate your concern.

It's funny how your code to "googling something" is the exact same as your code for the java game. If you are googling something, why not just use the IE functions or the Chrome UDF? Why on earth would you do something as silly as PixelSearch to Google something?*

*Might I suggest making your next excuse at least somewhat plausible?

The Fire Fox logo at the bottom of my Task bar needs to be clicked, The location of it is not always the same.

If you don't want to help then fine. I find your accusations very unprofessional.

I am still working to find myself a solution. Just to reiterate this is NOT for a game it is for my learning experience. Also I will look into those IE functions, I have never heard of them. I hope they don't only apply to Internet explorer because that is by far my least favorite browser.

@IAMK,

Which part is unclear in this statement?

@UncleLouie909, while @IAMK is extremely fortunate that Jos saw his intrusion before I did, he has a point. We have UDFs for IE, Chrome and FireFox, all of which are better suited to your needs than using PixelSearch - especially a PixelSearch which, coincidentally, works just the same on a Java game. I would suggest looking at those to accomplish what you're after.

@IAMK as I stated, if Jos had not seen your response before I you would have earned a holiday from posting. We have said it numerous times, stay out of a thread in which a Moderator is determining legitimacy. We even put a tag in now when we respond to let people know we are involved; not sure what else we can do to help people engage the grey matter before posting. btw this is rhetorical, I have no desire to see you pollute the thread further with explanations.

@All if you with to help the OP regarding the use of the FF UDF, or other means, please feel free. I have stripped what is obviously the same code as his attempt at game automation from the initial post. UncleLouie909, we are not going down that road. Accept help on automating the browser correctly if that is what you are truly after, or abandon the pretense; your choice.

Thank you for the help everyone, sorry for making such a commotion. I researched the FF commands and they are extremely useful! I no longer need the pixel search.

Just to be clear with Mr. Moderator, I am just learning new languages. This is one of many. I started using it on games because I felt that is where other people used it. After realizing I was breaking the rule I had no problem moving away from games. I just like to code pointless programs while learning. Games, no games, I don't care. You can Lock this topic.

Just here to learn o.O

I learned AutoIT on game when it was not forbiden yet. But....I understand the community. When you say Mr. Moderator. You hit us all;

AutoIT + game automation = False positive virus.

Even with good script.

Anyway..AutoIT is far from the best way to automate video games.
