Paxman Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Hi A complete newbie to Autoit but have some VBA experience. I am automating a windows program which needs to open a set file (from within the program) using a mouse click. Then i want to move down the set file (Down arrow x number of times) (untick a box) move down a few more times and tick a box then close the set file and run a tester to allow me to pick the best value (copy again) and go back to the set file and move to the ticked record and update associated value. This would loop until all 20 values are optimised and updated. The mouse recorder does most of it. As there are say 20 values i need to do this with it might be best to store the number of down arrows for each test value in an external file. I would store the variable name and number of down arrows to it. What would be the best way to do this? I could easily use a table in MS Access or a csv file (export from Access or Excel). Is there a bit of code that can search for a line in a csv for a match on a variable name and read in the associated number (of down arrows)? Regards Neil
careca Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Easiest way to store values like that is the .ini Spoiler Renamer - Rename files and folders, remove portions of text from the filename etc. GPO Tool - Export/Import Group policy settings. MirrorDir - Synchronize/Backup/Mirror Folders BeatsPlayer - Music player. Params Tool - Right click an exe to see it's parameters or execute them. String Trigger - Triggers pasting text or applications or internet links on specific strings. Inconspicuous - Hide files in plain sight, not fully encrypted. Regedit Control - Registry browsing history, quickly jump into any saved key. Time4Shutdown - Write the time for shutdown in minutes. Power Profiles Tool - Set a profile as active, delete, duplicate, export and import. Finished Task Shutdown - Shuts down pc when specified window/Wndl/process closes. NetworkSpeedShutdown - Shuts down pc if download speed goes under "X" Kb/s. IUIAutomation - Topic with framework and examples Au3Record.exe
Paxman Posted June 14, 2018 Author Posted June 14, 2018 So i would just list a set of variable names and values in the ini and they become available to reference when the script runs? Seems easy enough
careca Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 There are functions to write and read from ini. Very useful when you want to set some preferences or smt for an application. Juvigy Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 You can also do it in the registry with the registry functions. Also very easy. careca 1
