Chris,

KeeForm does work with KeePass 2.0 beta. You can find the configuration steps in the readme file.

The biggest difference is that there is no KeePass.ini any more in KeePass 2.0 (so it is actually easier to configure). You can actually configure this with '"Tools->Options->Integration->all URLs" and enter the following value cmd://"{APPDIR}\KeeForm.exe" "{URL}" "{USERNAME}" "{PASSWORD}" {ENTERFORM}

But I don't recommend to use KeePass 2.0 for production since it is still beta ...

Cheers,

Dave

Dave, this is a great little KeePass add-on that really makes things much simpler. Unfortunately, I can't get it to work on the 2.06 Beta version (XP or Windows). I followed the Quick Installation Guide for KeePass 2.0 steps in the readme107.htm file. Do you have any suggestions? Is there a planned update for Beta now that it is more stable?

Girish,

You can avoid any "AV false alerts" by using Keeform.au3 instead of KeeForm.exe. For example

cmd://"{APPDIR}\KeeForm.au3" "{URL}" "{USERNAME}" "{PASSWORD}" {ENTERFORM}

The only prerequisite is to install AutoIt first.

Cheers,

Dave

I think it happens because the compiled autoit scripts are further compressed using upx and I think that the reason most of the compliled AutoIt exe's are treated as infected files..

Dave, I had actually found this configuration in the readme file before I posted, but it doesn't work for me (on both an XP and Vista computer). The .ini file configuration does work for 1.0 on a 3rd computer running XP. I take it that you (or others) have actually gotten KeeForm to work with 2.06 beta? I'm using a 1.x database that I imported into 2.x. Do you know of any other reason this wouldn't work for me?

Also, I know what beta testing means, but I was considering using 2.x for production since it does do synchronization, while 1.x does not. Up until this (1st beta) release, there was all kinds of warnings about using 2.x for production, but now the warnings have gone away, so I took that to mean that the security is OK, but there are still quite a few other non-security bugs that make KeePass 2.x unstable. It sounds like you have a different (and better since you are much more involved) interpretation?

Chris,

I tried KeePass 2.06 and KeeForm. Seems to work fine. No idea what is wrong in your case, but you could run KeeForm in debug mode and send me the result:

cmd://"{APPDIR}\KeeForm" {URL} {USERNAME} {PASSWORD} "" {KEEFORMDEBUG}

You can capture and view the output with

http://download.sysinternals.com/Files/DebugView.zip

You did not get any output? In that case KeeForm did not run (configuration not correct etc)

Cheers,

Dave

After using KeeForm with KeePass for a lengthy period of time on my Vista 32 and 64 bit systems, I noticed today that KeeForm no longer worked properly. IIRC, KeePass could not find KeeForm.exe. I checked the directory and sure enough, no KeeForm.exe or KeeRun.exe - only KeeForm.au3 and KeeRun.au3.

I downloaded AutoIt and compiled both au3 files to get the new executable files for KeeForm and KeeRun and placed them in the KeePass file directory. I have no idea as to why the .exe files were missing (if they were ever there) or what else might have happened as things had worked fine for a long time. Nevertheless, this fix worked for me and I wanted to post it for others if they run into the same problem.

Zorax,

Maybe your AV has deleted these files? AV programs sometimes falsely target programs created with autoitscript (there are numerous postings about this here in the forum). You could check the log of you AV program.

A new version of KeeForm is available (see first post). The new version features an easy-to-use installer including automatic KeePass configuration and IE8 support. It it also tested on Windows 7.

Just to clarify a frequently asked question:

KeeForm can be installed for KeePass "1.15 or higher" and "2.07 or higher". The installations can be side by side.

Just FYI

The stable version of KeePass 2.08 has been released (yes after two years of beta ;-)

http://keepass.info/news/n090705_2.08.html

In case you plan to switch from KeePass 1.x to KeePass 2.x, KeeForm works with both versions.

Cheers,

Dave

Thanks for reporting the problem with german Umlauts in the Firefox version of KeeForm. I fixed it and released a beta version for testing (v2.03). You should only download this if you use or intend to use special/non-ASCII characters in your passwords.

You can download the beta version at:

Man, what happened here? KeeForm looks to be DOA?

Dead on Arrival?

Looks like a deadlink, which happens with old threads, but it has no use to report that because this is not maintained by us.
