This one got locked because i had little time spent with new language and discovered things no one mentions anywhere.
So me being so smart and only needed few hrs to understand the language functionality, qualified for a topic lock.
If anyone would have posted on that thread what i have posted, i would never get my self into python to begin with.
I wasn't comparing the two for anything that would impact the language functionality, i just compared the end results.

I cant compare a semi truck VS Ferrari. But i cant compare the garage they need to park. And thats exactly what i did.
If i knew that python is not windows friendly (wont run without python installed and converted py to executable files are large) i'd say "thanks" to who ever mentioned it.
Get a lock instead. Its ok. Jos is Jos. Gotta love him for what he is or he gonna ban me. He might just for posting this "not topic related" reply.

cant wait.

If the thread was about _StringEncrypt, then it's not current because that function isn't supported any longer. If it's about any other function that has been updated to a newer version, or removed then it should be locked because you should update.

Are you serious?!?

I absolutely disagree!

Not only for the reason that I use as my main development very old AutoIt version 3.2.12.1/3.3.7.23 but also as ideological thought.

Of course nobody should create Trac tickets about such old AutoIt's versions but on the forum there should be freedom about topic themes concerning versions of AutoIt.

And of course, I absolutely disagree. Old versions have been replaced by newer versions that supposedly work better, so why support a broken version when you can devote time to the latest?

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I hereby grant any person the right to use any code I post, that I am the original author of, on the autoitscript.com forums, unless I've specifically stated otherwise in the code or the thread post. If you do use my code all I ask, as a courtesy, is to make note of where you got it from.

Back up and restore Windows user files _Array.au3 - Modified array functions that include support for 2D arrays.  -  ColorChooser - An add-on for SciTE that pops up a color dialog so you can select and paste a color code into a script.  -  Customizable Splashscreen GUI w/Progress Bar - Create a custom "splash screen" GUI with a progress bar and custom label.  -  _FileGetProperty - Retrieve the properties of a file  -  SciTE Toolbar - A toolbar demo for use with the SciTE editor  -  GUIRegisterMsg demo - Demo script to show how to use the Windows messages to interact with controls and your GUI.  -   Latin Square password generator
