Moderators Melba23 Posted October 24, 2017 Moderators Share Posted October 24, 2017 aa2zz6, Or you could use something like this: $sOriginal = '{"token":"B6LdPUAgg14..","expires":15081,"ssl":true}' $sExtract = StringRegExpReplace($sOriginal, '^(.*":")(.*)(\.\.".*)$', "$2") ConsoleWrite($sExtract & @CRLF) ^ - start at the beginning of the string (.*":") - capture all characters up to ":" (Group 1) (.*) - capture all characters (Group 2) until (\.\.".*) - we find and capture all characters (Group 3) beginning .." and which ends $ - at the end of the string $2 - return only the Group 2 M23 aa2zz6 1 Any of my own code posted anywhere on the forum is available for use by others without any restriction of any kind Open spoiler to see my UDFs: Spoiler ArrayMultiColSort ---- Sort arrays on multiple columnsChooseFileFolder ---- Single and multiple selections from specified path treeview listingDate_Time_Convert -- Easily convert date/time formats, including the language usedExtMsgBox --------- A highly customisable replacement for MsgBoxGUIExtender -------- Extend and retract multiple sections within a GUIGUIFrame ---------- Subdivide GUIs into many adjustable framesGUIListViewEx ------- Insert, delete, move, drag, sort, edit and colour ListView itemsGUITreeViewEx ------ Check/clear parent and child checkboxes in a TreeViewMarquee ----------- Scrolling tickertape GUIsNoFocusLines ------- Remove the dotted focus lines from buttons, sliders, radios and checkboxesNotify ------------- Small notifications on the edge of the displayScrollbars ----------Automatically sized scrollbars with a single commandStringSize ---------- Automatically size controls to fit textToast -------------- Small GUIs which pop out of the notification area Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Moderators Melba23 Posted October 24, 2017 Moderators Share Posted October 24, 2017 jchd, Do not take it to heart - I think it is the best short RegEx reference page I have ever seen. And it is a constant help when I find my brain bleeding - as it always does when dealing with complex RegExes. aa2zz6 Posted October 25, 2017 Author Share Posted October 25, 2017 @jchd When I try to understand regexp i feel like my brain wants to stop Is that normal starting out? I've been using this method more often in my recent projects and I see the value in it. I will surely read your tutorials and hopefully try to further understand this method Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
iamtheky Posted October 25, 2017 Share Posted October 25, 2017 (edited) if it is always between the 3rd and 4th quotes $str = '{"token":"B6LdPUAgg14..","expires":15081,"ssl":true}' consolewrite(stringmid($str , StringInStr($str , '"' , 0 , 3) + 1 , StringInStr($str , '"' , 0 , 4) - StringInStr($str , '"' , 0 , 3) - 1)) and another that gets the thing after token, sans regex $str = '{"token":"B6LdPUAgg14..","expires":15081,"ssl":true}' consolewrite(stringleft(stringsplit($str, '"token":"' , 3)[1] , stringinstr(stringsplit($str, '"token":"' , 3)[1] , '"' , 1) - 1)) Edited October 25, 2017 by iamtheky aa2zz6 1 ,-. .--. ________ .-. .-. ,---. ,-. .-. .-. .-. |(| / /\ \ |\ /| |__ __||| | | || .-' | |/ / \ \_/ )/ (_) / /__\ \ |(\ / | )| | | `-' | | `-. | | / __ \ (_) | | | __ | (_)\/ | (_) | | .-. | | .-' | | \ |__| ) ( | | | | |)| | \ / | | | | | |)| | `--. | |) \ | | `-' |_| (_) | |\/| | `-' /( (_)/( __.' |((_)-' /(_| '-' '-' (__) (__) (_) (__) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
