Dragonfighter
I'm looking to a function that change the background without using the registry, to avoid errors.
BrewManNH
I'm not sure that is possible. The background image information is stored in the registry. So unless you're just swapping files and restarting Explorer.exe, there's no way to make it permanent. Developers Jos Posted October 18, 2017 Developers Share Posted October 18, 2017 Maybe something like described here works? Update the registry and then perform this command: RUNDLL32.EXE USER32.DLL,UpdatePerUserSystemParameters ,1 ,True Jos SciTE4AutoIt3 Full installer Download page - Beta files Read before posting How to post scriptsource Forum etiquette Forum Rules Live for the present, Dream of the future, Learn from the past. on_jon
Save as a theme file i.e. copy from "C:\Users\" & @UserName & "\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\whatever.theme" and do a ShellExecute on it. The .theme should be associated with the 'personalization' window and apply / saved to the above location. To refresh the desktop without restarting explorer.exe try DllCall("shell32.dll", "none", "SHChangeNotify", "long", 0x8000000, "uint", BitOR(0x0, 0x1000), "ptr", 0, "ptr", 0)
