heroeda,

Welcome to the AutoIt forums.

What sort of data are you comparing: text, numeric, arrays? Are you trying to match an entered password against a stored copy? Help us to help you by giving us some details of what exactly you are trying to do.

heroeda,

Something like this should work for you:

#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3>
#include <MsgBoxConstants.au3>

; Define the correct sequence for the input
$sMatch = "123"

; Create a GUI
$hGUI = GUICreate("Test", 500, 500)

; With an input and a button
$cInput = GUICtrlCreateInput("", 10, 10, 200, 20)
$cCheck = GUICtrlCreateButton("Check", 10, 50, 80, 30)

GUISetState()

While 1

    Switch GUIGetMsg()
        Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
            Exit
        Case $cCheck ; Button pressed
            ; Read input
            $sInput = GUICtrlRead($cInput)
            ; Compare to required string = force case sensitive string comparison by using the == operator
            If $sInput == $sMatch Then
                MsgBox($MB_SYSTEMMODAL + $MB_ICONINFORMATION, "Compare", "Success!!")
            Else
                MsgBox($MB_SYSTEMMODAL + $MB_ICONERROR, "Compare", "Failed" & @CRLF & @CRLF & "Try again")
            EndIf
            ; Clear input and reset focus
            GUICtrlSetData($cInput, "")
            GUICtrlSetState($cInput, $GUI_FOCUS)
    EndSwitch

WEnd
