question about browser trafic

hi  guys  

i use   wiresharck in my lan  , and i notice  when  open  a browser and  open many tab ,    also if in page not exist nothing (like stream video or popup  or other banner)continue at do traffic .

explain better example  

i openn 15 tab   , with  bloh or google search or much , not  close it , but  iconize  the browser in bar ,  work with other program like word , and  i see in wiresharck the browser continiusly interchange data 

exist a plugin or userscript  in gsmonkey ,  for  block this??   

example  i do reseacrh in google  download a page of blog , and after stop connection for the site  if focused is off
