CueBanner for EditBox

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Is there a way to Set Cutbanners for Editboxes? I read through the helpfile and i can only find it for inputs / combos. Code below fails on Editbox.

#NoTrayIcon
#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3>
#include <GuiEdit.au3>

GUICreate("Example")
$Example = GUICtrlCreateInput("", 0, 0, 300, 25)
$Example1 = GUICtrlCreateEdit("", 0, 30, 300, 300)
_GUICtrlEdit_SetCueBanner($Example, "Title", True)
_GUICtrlEdit_SetCueBanner($Example1, "Title", True)

GUISetState()

Do
Until GUIGetMsg() = $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE

IanN1990,

From MSDN:

You cannot set a cue banner on a multiline edit control or on a rich edit control.

So as an edit control is forced to $ES_MULTILINE, the answer would appear to be "No" and the function apparently serves no useful purpose.

The function sets a cue banner in an Input control, even though it's referencing an Edit control name, an Input control is basically a single line Edit control. The ComboBox has a similar function for its edit control.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.
