searching for an address book udf

Hi

I am looking for a UDF that will allow linking to _any_ address book.  

There are many non-Microsoft address books out there, some freeware, others with trial periods.  

What I am trying to do is export client info from various sources (outlook/case management etc)  into a single Address Book, which can then be queried by any user in the office.

I am willing to go with any address book.  I have looked at 

http://www.efficientaddressbook.com/ which uses FireBird (not free)

and http://addressbook.gassoftwares.com/ which uses an MS Access db (free).

 

Any ideas?  the idea is to set up a periodic refresh of data from these various sources, and allow unlimited access to the address book, creating a security layer between the actual info and the contact info in the address book.

 

I like the FireBird option :), but will probably end up with the MS Access option.  Anybody done anything like this before?

For Firebird you should download and install ODBC Driver

Okay, to clarify...

I have various systems that contain all kinds of data.  The idea is to export to a single "open" contacts manager, which is then generally accessible.

Extract info from payroll system - get staff data 

Extract info from accounting system - get client data

Problems I have are (a) the only access system I could find has an error on the CSV import and the other use encrypted SQLite, or require Firebird etc...

I have looked at

  • Efficient Address Book Free Portable
  • Free Address Book
  • Contact Contacts
  • Open Contacts (non-ADO FireBird)

and some others.

 

It does not have to be open source, but ideally should be portable and the underlying database open to INSERTs from my other sources... I have not found any that matches this...  Best hope so far is the MS Access system, and the AutoIt Access UDF is not working as expected. 

--> Aware of the ado.udf, but that requires an ado driver, then its not portable... 

When I have more time I may consider doing my own, with a simple SQLite database, as it is easy to use - and can easily be made portable.  Anyone be keen?

Usually ADO.au3 do not need driver for ACCESS
