Probably because we went down this avenue before if I remember correctly. It just surprises me that people want stuff but preferably have it done by me or others. I will in case I am convinced it is for the greater good, else you have do it yourself.... fair enough? Look at the au3.properties for how to link functions/programs to shortcuts and/or tools menu. For example you open SciTE Script Editor and start a new script, write anything and save that script, once is saved then you can open the Help. Look like a "bug" on the Editor. Another way is to manually open it from the Start Menu you will have a Shortcut to: "C:\Program Files (x86)\AutoIt3\AutoIt.chm" This is the Help File. You should look for FileRead() Happy Coding. Now I know how to get "Help" to work :-) Best regards, Libo

Simpel
Hi, I installed the 3.3.14.2 today. But now I'm facing a problem with the help file. It triggers a security warning: Why is this? I had no problem with the help file in version 3.3.12.xx. And if I click "Run" then it will open but all pages are empty. There is no difference whether the file lays on a network drive or a local one. Any clue? BrewManNH
Right click the AutoIt.chm file and click the Unblock button on the General tab. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. Simpel
Hi BrewManNH, there is no button with this files. I found a half solution. I zipped and unzipped AutoIt.chm and AutoIt3Help.exe. Then this security window is skipped because computer thinks now it's a local file. But a new problem comes. If both files are on a local drive (C:\) all is fine. But my local space is limited at 20MB by admin. So I have to take a network drive. If I press F1 on SciTE and the command is 'networkdrive\AutoIt3\AutoIt.chm" "$(CurrentWord)"' then the help file opens correctly. But I can't pass "$(CurrentWord)" to the chm. If I press F1 on SciTE and the command is 'networkdrive\AutoIt3\AutoIt3Help.exe" "$(CurrentWord)"' then I don't see any content but the register on the right. I know, that it should be a problem with registry: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\HTMLHelp\1.x] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\HTMLHelp\1.x\HHRestrictions] "MaxAllowedZone"=dword:00000001 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\HTMLHelp\1.x\ItssRestrictions] "MaxAllowedZone"=dword:00000001 But I'm not allowed to change these. Any suggestions? How passes AutoIt3Help.exe "$(CurrentWord)" to the chm? Maybe I can script an own Help.exe passing "$(CurrentWord)" to the chm?
