Dgameman1
Hey guys, let's say I want the script to stop after 23 hours. $Timer = TimerInit() Do ;;;; Until TimerDiff($Timer) > 82800000 ;82800000 is 23 hours in Milliseconds Is this code acceptable? Whats the biggest number I can use to compare with TimerDiff?
Moderators Melba23 Posted March 28, 2016 Moderators Share Posted March 28, 2016 Dgameman1, Personally I would use _DateAdd to find the time 23 hours on and then match the time macros inside a simple loop. If you wanted to get really complicated then you could do something like this: expandcollapse popup#include <MsgBoxConstants.au3> #include <Date.au3> ; Create a flag to show timer ended $fTimer = False ; Set Adlib to run a function to check time AdlibRegister("_TimerCheck", 1000 * 60 * 30) ; Check every 30 mins ; Run the function immediately _TimerCheck() While 1 Sleep(10) ; Look for flag If $fTimer Then MsgBox($MB_SYSTEMMODAL, "Timer", "DING-A-LING!!!!!!") ExitLoop EndIf WEnd Func _TimerCheck() ; This section only runs the first time the function is called Local Static $sEnd = _DateAdd("h", 23, _NowCalc()) Local Static $sEndHour = StringMid($sEnd, 12, 2) Local Static $sEndMin = StringMid($sEnd, 15, 2) Local Static $sCheck = "Hour" ; But this section is run every time Switch $sCheck Case "Hour" If @Min = $sEndHour Then ; Reset frequency of Adlib AdlibRegister("_TimerCheck", 1000 * 30) ; Check every 30 secs ; Change to minute check $sCheck = "Minute" EndIf Case "Minute" If @Sec = $sEndMin Then ; Set flag $fTimer = True ; End Adlib AdlibUnRegister("_TimerCheck") EndIf EndSwitch EndFunc M23 Any of my own code posted anywhere on the forum is available for use by others without any restriction of any kind Open spoiler to see my UDFs: Spoiler ArrayMultiColSort ---- Sort arrays on multiple columnsChooseFileFolder ---- Single and multiple selections from specified path treeview listingDate_Time_Convert -- Easily convert date/time formats, including the language usedExtMsgBox --------- A highly customisable replacement for MsgBoxGUIExtender -------- Extend and retract multiple sections within a GUIGUIFrame ---------- Subdivide GUIs into many adjustable framesGUIListViewEx ------- Insert, delete, move, drag, sort, edit and colour ListView itemsGUITreeViewEx ------ Check/clear parent and child checkboxes in a TreeViewMarquee ----------- Scrolling tickertape GUIsNoFocusLines ------- Remove the dotted focus lines from buttons, sliders, radios and checkboxesNotify ------------- Small notifications on the edge of the displayScrollbars ----------Automatically sized scrollbars with a single commandStringSize ---------- Automatically size controls to fit textToast -------------- Small GUIs which pop out of the notification area

Right. And just to clarify, I know that some programming languages can only go up to 2,147,483,647 as an integer.

So using a calculator, 1.79769e+308 milliseconds would be equal to 4.99358333333333321e+301 hours. I'm assuming the calculator fucked up because that only seems like 5 hours?
