FileOpen

New user here, I'm trying to simply open a text file for verification of build numbers. Here is my code...

Run("Explorer.exe" C:\DailyBuild")

FileOpen("BuildLog.txt")

 

Nothing happens...Explorer opens to the desired directory where the file lives but it won't open the text file. Any suggestions?

FileOpen doesn't "open" the file, it creates a file handle to the file so you can use it with other file related functions. If you want it to open in its default program use ShellExecute.

Try ShellExecute("<Path to> BuildLog.txt") instead.

Now that I have my file open, it displays the text I need to use to find the proper build folder. How can I get the text in the .txt log file and use it to search a directory for a folder in the same name?

You might want to re-think the StringSplit @Trong. @CRLF is seen as two chars and not one. Did you maybe want to add $STR_ENTIRESPLIT? Or then just use the baked in FileReadToArray(), which isn't buggy.

Check your For loop. Your best bet is to read the help file for FileReadToArray.
