Send letters through the serial port or the parallel port.

I need to send letters through the parallel port or the serial port for example sending AA, BB, AB ... does anyone know how to do?

You can write directly to the serial port(s) in Windows if all you're doing is sending text to it. Something like this:

BrewManNH I used the COM Port Toolkit 4.0 to view data sent over the COM1 port and it worked perfectly, thank you for the tip!

EDITED: I just can send letters using .bat but could not send using Autoit, someone knows what command should I use with Autoit?

Use Run(@comspec & ' /k echo "text to send to COM1 > COM1"'), that should work. After you test it and make sure it's working, you can change the /k to /c to have the console window close automatically.

you could also remove quotes at all. Run(@comspec & ' /k echo text to send to COM1 > COM1')

Chimp This way did not work but auditioning here I could make it work this way:

You'll want to remove the /k or change it to /c in that line, otherwise your console window will never close and you'll never see it.

BrewManNH I tried to use without the / k or changing the / a but it did not work!

EDITED: Using /c is closed window, it is correct to use the /c?

The /k keeps the console open after the command runs, using /c tells it to close once the command line has finished. Using /k with @SW_HIDE means the window stays open, but it's hidden and the only way to close it is to kill the process in TaskManager.

The echo "text to send to COM1">COM1 works well for COM1 but the device I need to send this letter in the COM10 and did not send the letters to COM10, does anyone have any other tips?
