Trivia autoit

Recommended Posts

I've seen some pretty nice topics about autoit searching for some answers over the interwebs.

The script had to do this:
On the middle of the screen it appears a question, and the script should search and andswer the question on the top of the screen within seconds and give the correct answer. Any ideea how to do this? How to make the script and make it run while you get questions?

Big ask for a first post, have you tried anything?

At least link us to these "some pretty nice topics about autoit searching for some answers over the interwebs."

I read some articles at a friend, so no, I can't link you unless I will recover the data. But I will in a couple of days. First post, maybe. But not new to scripting languages or programming.

I know it's tough, but I promise I will come by friday with some answers.

I was interested how could you make this in autoit3 to actually search for the answers. Had some old C# dll that did that, but you had to run it every time again and again.

We're told that the question will be release next Friday, from what I gathered. Can't hold my breath until then.

OK then can you please explain a little bit more concretely what exactly you're after? Which kind of question in the middle of which screen? Is that for a game and then which one?

Let me rephrase. I read on a forum (it was a nice topic, but NO, I do not know where to find it again) some very nice ways of scripting (using autoit). One that cought my attention was a topic where they described how to actually make a script to do this:

A question appears on the screen, and the script would answer to the question. And this seems amazing to me. Even if I am not new to programming, I have a hard time to understand how would you possibly do this with autoscript.

Example of how it should work:
"What is the capital of Spain?

Madrid"

"How many times was Einstein married?

2"

Is it actually possible to do this? Or was it just a scam or someone made fun of all?

It'd be quite simple in the scheme of things, provided you have a list of questions and answers, either locally or on the web.

Considering that there is a pool of tens of questions, without knowing the answers, is it possible to actually do something like a human would do?
"Open a browser.

search: how many times was Einstein married
Click first link and find that the answer is 2"?

Indeed. This is the biggest problem, but even so, it would need something like artificial neural networks to find out what's the link with the highest probability to own the answer...

But considering that there is an answer and google gives it in the first link, you say it's an eaaaasy job to do?

Maybe wolframalpha is a better place to start.
Example: Albert Einstein

Yes.

Seeing as how you're "not new to scripting languages or programming" you should have that done within the hour.

Take a look at the Inet* functions in help file or WinHttp udf in example scripts, or even the standard _IE functions in help file to get you started.
