does SciTE Script Editor have an auto re-run functionality?

Often when i try to run a script hitting F5 it doesn't do anything because its still running in the background from the last time I tested it does anyone know if there is a way to auto kill / restart it - I assume not because that could possibly interfere with script functionality so i guess getting used to hitting ctrl + break (to stop a possibly running script) would be the way to go... or even lazier is there a way to rebind scite keyboard shortcuts? would be nice to bind it to f4 then you could just hit both in tandem every time

yah i'll just have to get used to ctrl break - thats def better than cursing.... trying to find the gui window or worse the tray icon, killing it then jumping back into the editor!!!

I mostly just HotKeySet {ESC} to a function that calls Exit.

atm if you hit f5 (run) on the editor (and you previously already hit it without killing the test) nothing will happen - ideally I'd like f5 to turn into a run / rerun button where if you hit it when your previous not compiled test was still running it just restarts it so you can test the new changes // or almost as good be able to remap the ctrl break key to f4 so i can just button mash both of them every time I go to test a script 

for some reason esp with gui apps i'm horrible at testing then alt tab'ing right back into the editor without hitting esc first

If you're really dead-set on the F5 key just put this in each script when testing.

why not make a script for that? doesnt sounds a hard one - steal hotkey, kill process, controlsend/maybe winact scite window/send

When you run it from SciTE, you should see this in the output panel.

--> Press Ctrl+Alt+Break to Restart or Ctrl+Break to Stop

the simplest way to be happy

 

Run your script from SciTe4Au3 (I mean Jos version)

and now look in console:

>Running:(3.3.10.2):C:Program Files (x86)AutoIt3autoit3.exe "Z:TOOLsMacroFORUM___FORUM -- z forumXMLTEST_MSXML.au3"    

--> Press Ctrl+Alt+Break to Restart    or    Ctrl+Break to Stop

+>17:30:25 AutoIt3.exe ended.rc:0

 

So 

 

when your previous not compiled test was still running it just restarts it so you can test the new changes

 

the only one what you must to do is :

Ctrl+Shift+Break

EDIT: CTRL+ALT+BREAK

and for other way you can edit:

"c:UsersuserAppDataLocalAutoIt v3SciTEAutoIt3WrapperAutoIt3Wrapper.ini" 

and add:

 

[Other]

SciTE_STOPEXECUTE={F11}

SciTE_RESTART=^{F11}

 

Which will give you a new way to stop or restart running script.

F4 stops the current script

F9 toggles script folding (just a bonus for You)
