orbs
Fenzik, that's all nice and well, but you missed one crucial point: this method requires installation (i.e. registering the DLL). this is why i have always preferred to use the command-line version of this product, which is by far simpler - unless using the DLL can demonstrate a considerable advantage, either to performance or to usability. qwert
"... the command-line version of this product" Would you happen to have a link to the command line version? And do you have any idea of the distribution/license/use provisions for it?
Fenzik
I know that you must register dll. But when you do it, object works quicker than commandline version and you have extracted text directly in a variable, i think that registering dll at start and unregistering at end is not problem. Other versions (commandline, dll) are available on homepage of this product i wrote url in first post.
orbs
object works quicker than commandline can you back this up with figures? registering dll at start and unregistering at end is not problem that is correct, providing you are already an elevated administrator. we all know how common that scenario is, don't we? Fenzik
Quicknes of using com object can be relative. I tested it on about 1000 files and for me object was looking quicker.
