SorryButImaNewbie Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Hello! My debug routine is usually consists of Opt("TrayIconDebug", 1) and MsgBoxes, or maybe console writes. Is there a function or UDF or anything, that shows what went down in the script during a run? I mean like TrayIconDebug, but it shows the whole script and how it went, when he did what? I think it would be a very usefull tool. I ask because I ran into a problem when one of my program exit after a script and I have no idea why! (I can post the code if you are interested, but this isn not my original question ) Also If you happen to have any pointer to improve my debuging process, It would be very helpful for future me Thank you and have a nice day!
Moderators Solution Melba23 Posted February 11, 2015 Moderators Solution Posted February 11, 2015 SorryButImaNewbie,Assuming you run the full SciTE4AutoIt3 package, adding the following directives will show you every line that ran in the SciTE console: #AutoIt3Wrapper_Run_Debug_Mode= ;(Y/N) Run Script with console debugging. Default=N #AutoIt3Wrapper_Run_Debug= ;(On/Off) Switch debugging on/offHowever, I have always found that having it switched on for the whole script is a bit of an overkill, so I tend only to use it on small sections after having used other debugging methods (ConsoleWrite/MsgBox) to narrow down the area causing the problem. In fact, doing that high level debugging usually points out the error without having to resort to the more detailed "line by line" approach.
